This manuscript has as main objective to present the technical-operational procedure of the action research developed in a public high school in the North region of Ceará, in the period from 2012 to 2015, EEFM College Dom José Tupinambá da Frota, located at Avenue Dr. Guarany, 1.100, Neighborhood Cidao, Sobral, CE. This study was developed as an interdisciplinary pedagogical proposal with the first year classes of high school. It is a pedagogical practice, in which the pedagogicalproject "sustainable school" was developed, focused on the issue of water resources. The idea of the project was born from the observation of water waste in the school through the dripping of drinking fountains and air conditioning appliances and the generation of effluents, coming from kitchen sinks and bathrooms. The main objective of this project was to develop interdisciplinary pedagogical tools capable of involving students and the school community in sustainable practices, leading them to critical reflection about the relationship between man and nature in living with the semi-arid climate,where these resources are, in a sense, limited. In addition, strengthen the links between school and society, school and university, encouraging students to be interested in scientific research, to dream of a future academic career and to train citizens aware of their role in environmental issues.
The purpose of this article was to present the results and discussions of an action research developed by teachers and high school students in a public school in the Sobral-CE municipality, Brazil's semi-arid region, where they elaborated and developed an interdisciplinary project aiming to seek the development of new sustainable methods and technologies for the treatment and reuse of domestic effluents and also to avoid wasting drip-treated water on school taps, drinking fountains, sinks and air-conditioning units. The starting point for the project was the group's concern about the wastefulness observed in the school environment and the awareness of issues related to the limitations of access to water by humanity in recent times. Thus, the main purpose of this project was the development of a practical environmental education capable of contributing effectively to the living conditions improvement in the semi-arid environment, based on the case study, having the school space as a research laboratory, proposing new educational challenges for teachers and learners in the another posture constitution of the same in relation to nature and its resources; based on the study of concrete cases of the daily life of said actors, thus fostering students' interest in scientific research. To do so, it started with TGS as the main methodological resource, whose course followed the steps of a quantitative research, whose results ratified the project initial hypotheses, showing that it was possible to develop an interdisciplinary environmental education in a practical and attractive way for students from simple ideas and to insert the student in the universe of scientific research still in basic education.
O presente artigo traz uma discussão ético-ambiental acerca da importância da água e seus múltiplos usos sociais, à luz do entendimento da população de Aracatiaçu, Sobral-CE, face às condições de semiaridez da região no contexto das políticas públicas de secas. O propósito deste trabalho é compreender a visão dos alunos do ensino fundamental II e dos moradores da zona rural da referida região distrital (agricultores e pescadores) acerca da água e de seu manejo e verificar a correlação de entendimento dos respectivos interlocutores em relação a importância deste objeto de estudo no cotidiano das populações locais. Ao mesmo tempo, entender o impacto do ensino de geografia na formação ético-ambiental dos supracitados educandos, comparando com o entendimento dos demais interlocutores da pesquisa, no que diz respeito às questões relativas à água no cotidiano da vida prática nessa região semiárida. Para tanto, o caminhar metodológico adotado partiu de uma visão sistêmica e holística, na qual buscou-se uma compreensão integral do objeto, cujos instrumentos utilizados na captação das informações foram o questionário fechado de múltipla escolha e a entrevista aberta, segundo os critérios da história oral. O resultado final ratifica as hipóteses iniciais do referido trabalho, nas quais visualizou-se um maior grau de importância e cuidado atribuído ao objeto segundo o grau de relação prática com o mesmo.
