Resumo. Com o surgimento da pandemia do COVID-19, a Organização Mundial da Saúde recomendou a população aderir ao isolamento social rígido como alternativa buscando diminuir o número de contaminações e mortes. A literatura científica fala que indivíduos fisicamente ativos tendem a apresentar um menor risco de contrair morbidades, como diabetes, hipertensão e cardiopatias, essas e outras patologias levam seus portadores a serem considerados de maior risco para a infecção do coronavírus. O objetivo deste estudo é fazer uma análise sobre o hábito de praticar exercícios físicos antes e durante a pandemia em participantes dos Projetos de Extensão e Célula de Esportes. A pesquisa de campo foi desenvolvida junto a Universidade Estadual do Ceará com os projetos de extensão do curso de Educação Física. Participaram da pesquisa 106 alunos dos projetos de extensão e Célula de Esportes. Foi desenvolvido e aplicado um questionário que se subdividiu em quatro seções: 1a seção -dados informativos dos participantes; 2ª seção -itens voltados à prática de atividades físicas antes e durante o período da pandemia; 3ª seção -motivação para a prática de atividades físicas antes e durante a pandemia; 4ª Seção -obstáculos encontrados para a prática durante a pandemia. Percebeu-se que no período pré-isolamento, 47,7% dos respondentes praticavam exercícios físicos frequentemente. Durante o período de isolamento, esse percentual caiu para 11,3%. Em relação aos fatores motivacionais, foram percebidas diferenças relevantes em sociabilidade, competitividade e lazer, nas quais apresentaram quedas. Em estética, saúde e controle do estresse os resultados foram mais aproximados, porém ainda com declínio. Sobre os obstáculos para a prática de exercícios apareceram três principais resultados: fazer exercícios sozinhos, espaço limitado e organização de tempo.
