Here, we evaluated the situation of the municipal solid waste by the method of gravimetric analysis. To draw the profile of domestic solid waste and recyclable neighborhood of each fraction was considering the implementation of a selective collection system and recycling-related jobs . The current waste disposal site near the urban area, close of a river and, the population behavior, require effective solutions that meet the National Solid Waste Policy . We estimated that the domestic solid waste produced every month on that city is worth approximately R $ 13,000 in recyclable materials with commercial value in the region . Environmental education and selective waste collection programs may be reduce organic matter and increase the value of the recyclable fraction enabling the deployment of a cooperative of recyclers.
