Los procesos globalizadores han desbordado su influencia colonizadora en todas las sociedades por separadas que estén ahora comparten formas de vivir y convivir sin lanecesidad del contacto físico entre los propios individuos que la integran.Son muchos los aspectos que se transforman pero es destacable que la lengua como medio de comunicación humana cada día cambia pues las comunicaciones ejercidas a través de las redes virtuales de que se han convertido en la forma ideal y más usual de comunicarse entre sí pervirtiendo su lenguaje y en ocasiones modificando sus hábitos o costumbres culturalesprovocando profundos cambios culturales que modifican la identidad.
Uno de los grandes retos de la educación intercultural no se centra en la atención a la diversidad cultural en el aula, esa sería una tarea no tan compleja puesto que desde siempre en las Universidades convencionales hay estudiantes de procedencia étnica. Tampoco podría ser el hecho de pertenecer a un subsistema de educación como es el caso de las Universidades Interculturales del país que juntas forman la red de universidades interculturales (REDUI). Por otro lado, si pensáramos que por el hecho de que los estudiantes pertenezcan a alguna expresión étnica nacional o extranjera es sinónimo de que la educación es intercultural, entonces toda educación superior lo es, baste con revisar a la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) que rebasa por mucho el número de grupos de pertenencia étnica de sus estudiantes, o también las Universidades vecinas la Autónoma de Sinaloa (UAS), La Universidad Autónoma de Occidente (UADO) estas dos últimas con presencia en el Estado de Sinaloa y que al igual que la UAIM también albergan estudiantes indígenas del país. La otra situación que pretendemos discutir en este ensayo está relacionada con los Programas educativos que se ofertan en las Universidades Interculturales, particularmente en el PE de sociología rural, su retícula, que tipo de autores recomiendan a sus estudiantes,
¿facilitan la emergencia de los saberes de sus estudiantes? ¿Qué peso específico tiene los autores latinoamericanos en las discusiones académicas al interior de las aulas? ¿Qué líneas de investigación están desarrollando? y finalmente ¿qué estrategia o programas llevan a cabo orientados a los intercambios culturales de sus alumnos? Estas interrogantes se tratan de explicar desde la experiencia en la Licenciatura en sociología rural que se imparte en la Unidad Mochicahui.
Las universidades tienen el doble compromiso de educar a sus estudiantes para ser ciudadanos de bien con normas y valores que les permita vivir y convivir en sociedad y por otro lado crear lazos cercanos con la comunidad a través de la vinculación ya que este solo proceso permite integrar a los programas educativos las exigencias que la población requiere y que solicitan que sus profesionistas desarrollen y aprendan en esa fusión Universidad-Comunidad. La Universidad Autónoma Indígena de México en lo sucesivo UAIM tiene en sus prioridades trabajar la vinculación comunitaria es por ello que la ha convertido en uno de los cuatro ejes prioritarios para cada programa educativo, con el programa adopta una comunidad buscamos sumar esfuerzos que abonen en la formación profesional de sus alumnos. Cuando se inició el proyecto de investigación nos propusimos como objetivo principal: Promover la vinculación con la comunidad a través de la realización de investigaciones que favorezcan la persistencia cultural de los pueblos originarios a la vez de proponer ser repositorios digitales de las prácticas sociales culturales. La metodología propuesta es una inclusión de metodologías horizontales y la investigación acción participativa basándonos en un permanente trabajo de campo, registrando cada aspecto, cada opinión de los que viven, buscando que la interpretación sea horizontal y compartida con el pueblo, vivir la comunalidad.
