Abstract-Entretanto, a literatura da área de neurociência não aborda qualquer formalismo ou modelagem de células e seus respectivos campos receptivos centro-on e/ou centro-off, em direção as células mais complexas, sob a perspectiva da parametrização adaptativa de operadores elementares da Morfologia Matemática-MM.Portanto, o presente trabalho explora as propriedades e a parametrização dos operadores da MM, em direção aos novos paradigmas de neurônios morfológicos artificiais, inspirados nas células centro-on e/ou centro-off conforme investigadas por Kuffler, Hubel e Wiesel [1,4,5,9]. Do ponto de vista matemático esta abordagem pode ser vista como um caso particular do formalismo apresentado em Silva [10]. No entanto, diferente dos modelos anteriores [10,18,27,28,29], esta abordagem, inspirada na investigação de Kuffler, Hubel e Wiesel [1,4,5,9], apresenta a modelagem de células cento-on e centro-off artificiais, as quais são implementadas diretamente por subconjuntos "janelas" específicas e operadores elementares da MM, conforme detalhado nas seções 3, 4 e 5.O modelo proposto é inspirado na teoria clássica de percepção desenvolvida por Kuffler, Hubel e Wiesel [1,4,5,9], considerando-se as propriedades dos operadores da Morfologia Matemática. Para isto, são investigados alguns aspectos dos modelos das células do sistema visual e seus respectivos campos receptivos, núcleos on/off, em direção a simulação computacional de arranjos ou "redes" de "células on/off artificiais".Espera-se que esta investigação possa contribuir no desenvolvimento de uma plataforma computacional, dedicada a construção de sistemas eficientes de Visão Ativa. Principalmente quando aplicados à área de próteses ou retinas artificiais [31], e, também, na implementação de novos sensores inteligentes [12], os quais devem contribuir no desenvolvimento das aplicações aeronáuticas e espaciais [11,12]. II. CÉLULAS ON/OFF E A DETECÇÃO DE FORMASNo presente trabalho, é importante observar que a detecção e o reconhecimento de padrões é parte do processo de percepção [5,6,7,15], considerando-se a diferença entre a detecção dos "pontos de excitação" [16,17], sob baixo nível de abstração, e o reconhecimento de estruturas mais complexas, denominadas de formas, conforme proposto por Hubel e Wiesel [4,5].No trabalho de Hubel e Wiesel é possível observar os arranjos dos grupos de células on-off, responsáveis pela detecção de contraste dos "pontos de excitação", e, também, a importância destas composições junto às células estreladas e as células mais complexas [5,6,7,15].
