Objetivo: Caracterizar o perfil epidemiológico e estimar diferenças por sexo na relação entre o controle das DCNTs e complicações pela COVID-19 entre pacientes atendidos na APS de um município do interior da Bahia. Métodos: Trata-se de um estudo quantitativo, transversal e analítico, utilizando dados dos prontuários de 274 pacientes com COVID-19 e DCNTs, atendidos nas USF de um município da Bahia, no período entre 11 de março de 2020 a 11 de novembro de 2021. Os pacientes foram classificados quanto ao sexo, idade, diagnóstico da COVID-19, diagnóstico e controle das DCNTs. A análise estatística foi através do software Stata. O estudo foi aprovado pelo Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa. Resultados: Entre os pacientes, 63,5% eram mulheres e 38,5% homens. 274 apresentaram HAS; destes, 14,6% tinham também DM. Dos pacientes, 93,1% não foram internados e 2,2% evoluíram a óbito. Homens apresentaram maior descontrole da HAS no momento do diagnóstico pela COVID-19. O descontrole da PA foi maior no momento do diagnóstico da COVID-19 quando comparado as medidas da USF. Conclusão: Houve maior prevalência da COVID-19 em mulheres. Em ambos os sexos, a COVID-19 pode ter contribuído para o descontrole da HAS. Enfatiza-se, ainda, a importância da APS no prognóstico dos pacientes.
