Study habits are the repeated learned practices that are observed routinely to accomplish related school responsibilities to earn high grades. As part of the Guidance program of the University of Bohol, the Guidance Center looked into the profile of the study habit practices of the first year students. The respondents were 314 first year students enrolled in Guidance during the first semester of academic year 2016-2017. These students were from the different colleges of the University of Bohol, Tagbilaran City, Bohol, Philippines. Data mining was employed in retrieving the data stored on the automated system used by the university. The study habits instrument was modified from the work of Preston and Botel, and the work of Wrenn. The findings in all the aspects used to measure the study habits of the students, such as time allotted for study hours and in prioritizing school works; note-taking; reading habits; place, materials and physical setting; test preparation; and examination habits showed fair rating. The findings implied that the student respondents need to acquire a higher level of study habits to maximize study effort and meet the standards in place for a college education.

The collaborative efforts of the church, the school, and the family are a potent force in designing new programs and activities that are appealing, able to sustain interest and youth involvement. This study aimed to describe the personal "growth experiences" gained by youth participants in the Youth Encounter (YE) program of the Catholic Youth Ministry (CYM). The study centered on the apostolate of the Diocesan Youth Ministry in the Diocese of Talibon, Bohol, Philippines. One hundred fifty Roman Catholic youth respondents, aged 15 to 16 years of age were randomly selected from the 43 parishes in the Diocese of Talibon. Percentages and weighted mean were used to analyze and interpret the data. The findings illustrated how the program influenced the emotional, social and spiritual growth of the youth participants. The Fully Evident rating on Affirmation, Discovering one's true identity and Self-worth signifies personal growth and change in the youth's character, attitudes, and beliefs. The findings showed positive outcomes in the youth's personal "growth experiences," participation in the program ensures learning opportunities and ownership of personal development. A program with supportive adults enables the youth to learn appropriate competencies and skills that will eventually lead to positive development.
This study was conducted to record the perception of the Children-in-conflict with the Law (CICL). The services assessed the following: Physical, Moral, Spiritual, Intellectual, and Social Well-being; it further assesses the effectiveness delivered by the RRCY and whether RA 9344 rehabilitates. The methods used are qualitative through interview methods on implementing the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act of 2006 (RA 9344), as amended by RA 10630, at the Regional Rehabilitation Center for the Youth (RRCY) in Argao, Cebu. The study participants were then identified as Children-in-conflict with the law (CICL) who come from the Province of Bohol. A researcher-made semi-structured questionnaire was used to guide the face-to-face interviews conducted and supported by a focused-group discussion. It was, however, a short-term interview with the participants, limited to the perception of the CICL, their parents, and the staff while the CICL were undergoing rehabilitation thereat. The study revealed the effectiveness of the services delivered by the RRCY and the narrative of the respondents, RA 9344 rehabilitates. Thus, continuity in the services rendered by the rehabilitation center and that of the community shall be reintegrated. Therefore, a Barangay-based Reintegration Program is recommended.
