Mit 10 Abbildungen.Die Frage, ob der mensuelle Zyklus und besonders die Menstruation einen Einflul~ auf den Verlauf yon Adnexentzfindungen ausiiben, und welcher Art dieser Einflu$ sei, hut ffir uns ein erneutes und lebhaftes Interesse gewonnen, seitdem die Ausschaltung der Menstruation bei Adnexentzfindungen zu einem therapeutischen Grundsatz erhoben worden ist. Pankow, Schoenholz, ]~laskamp, Baer u. a. haben bei gonorrhoischer Adnexitis naeh Versagen anderer HeilmM~nahmen mit Erfolg die tempori~re Strahlensterilisation angewendet, wi~hrend andere Strahlentherapeuten, wie z. B. Wagner, eine gleich gute Wirkung bei Anwendung viel kleinerer Strahlenmengen, der sogen. Entzfindungsdosis, trotz ErhMtung des ovariellen Zyklus beobaehtet haben.Die Anwendung der tempor~ren R6ntgensterilisation bei Adnexentzfindungen geht yon der Erfahrung aus, dM3 bei derart kranken Frauen zur Zeit der Menstruation h~ufig ein Aufflaekern und eine Verschleehterung der Entzfindung beobachtet wurden. Fast allgemein wird in der Literatur auf diesen ungfinstigen Einflu{~ der Menstruation hingewiesen, der vor Mlem in menstruellen Sehmerzattacken (Dysmenorrhoe) und Temperatursteigerungen zum Ausdruek kommt. Obwohl nun diese Symptome zweifellos nicht selten vor und w/~hrend der Menstruation beobachtet werden, so hatten wir doch den Eindruck, dub sie durehaus nicht so hi~ufig oder gar immer mit einer Verschlechterung des 6rtliehen Entziindungsprozesses verbunden sind. Gerade in neuerer Zeit sind wir geneigt, Fieber und Schmerzen nicht immer Ms absolut ungtinstige Zeichen einer Erkrankung aufzufassen. Wit erinnern in diesem Zusammenhange auch an die Allgemein-nnd Herdreaktionen bei der spezifisehen und unspezifischen Reizk6rpertheraloie, die wir gelegenttich als erwiinsehte Reaktion betraehten. Auch allgemein-pathologisehe (~berlegungen ffihrten uns dazu, der pri~menstruell-menstruellen Hyper-~mie der weibliehen Genitalorgane unter gewissen Bedingungen m6g.
