The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of minimarkets on the income of small kiosks in Tataaran II Village, South Tondano District, Minahasa Regency. The research strategy used is quantitative. Analysis with simple regression. The results showed that the presence of minimarkets affected small kiosk income by 0.374 (37.4%), with other factors explaining the remaining 62.6%. The monthly net income of small kiosk traders has decreased. The average net profit per month before the minimarket existed ranged from IDR 1,000,000 to IDR 2,000,000, while the average net profit per month after the minimarket existed ranged from IDR 500,000 to IDR 1,000,000. The existence of online transportation and illegal taxi namely "dark taxi" at Tomohon slightly eliminates conventional transportation, especially the Tomohon-Manado city bus route. This condition then contributed to the socio-economic conditions of the Tomohon-Manado public transport bus drivers. The challenge that should be answered by the implementation of conventional public transportation in competition with online transportation and "illegal taxi", is how to survive facing changes and improve their economic conditions. The research is expected to find out the socio-economic condition of the city bus driver at Tomohon -Manado route. This research was designed using a qualitative descriptive approach. This study describes the socioeconomic conditions of Tomohon-Manado public transport bus drivers. The target or object of this study is all Tomohon-Manado bus drivers. The data has been collected is reduced for further analysis to present the data. Furthermore, the data or information are arranged, analyzed deductively, interpreted, and analyzed inductively to conclude the study. The results showed: (1) The entry illegal taxi and online taxis such as Grap, brought significant changes of income from Tomohon-Manado bus drivers, (2) Tomohon-Manado bus driver survived the job due living conditions require them to work and generate income to survive for their family. The number of family dependents is charged to bus drivers for family needs such as clothing, food, housing, and children's education and other needs, (3) Survival strategies undertaken by Tomohon-Manado bus drivers to survive by adding travel trips and try other businesses, like opening a food stall. Some drivers save costs and buy cheap goods.
This study aims to describe the Socio-Economic Study of Coconut Farmers in Mangaran Village, Kabupdate Subdistrict, Talaud Islands Regency. The research method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection was carried out through observation, interview and documentation techniques. The results showed, namely: 1) the socio-economic existence of coconut farmers in the village of Mangaran has many benefits and uses for meeting their daily needs as well as main income besides cloves and nutmeg; 2) the existence of land accessibility is still inadequate so that coconut farming communities experience difficulties, especially in transporting coconut processing products to be marketed; 3) accessibility by sea still does not support, especially the existence of ships for the outbound transportation of the Talaud Islands district; 4) the selling price of coconut (copra) has decreased in 2018, below the standard of five hundred per kilo, so that the farming community is in trouble and is even embarrassed because they have to fail the panel; and 5) the role of the local government of the Talaud Islands district is still not empowering and striving for accessibility, both land and sea, and is not even able to minimize the existence of the selling price of coconut which has decreased below the standard of five hundred per kilogram. Therefore it is suggested that there should be efforts, especially by the local government of the Talaud Islands district, so that the existence of accessibility can support both land and sea, and even be able to maximize the selling price of coconut as the main income of coconut farming communities.
The purpose of this study was to determine the socio-economic conditions of the female workforce community in the nutmeg industry improve family welfare in the Tuminting sub-district of Manado. The method used in this study was a qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach. Based on the results of the study, it shows: (1) The socio-economic situation of women workers who work in the nutmeg industry in general from disadvantaged family backgrounds, both unable in terms of educational background or terms of family needs. Before working, family income is not sufficient and the needs of daily life coupled with various problems in the family include a large number of dependents in the family income is not sufficient due to the husband's condition that is no longer possible to make a living, and the husband's basic work. In improving welfare related to terms of basic needs, after working as a workforce in the nutmeg industry, the food needs only for daily life and impact on children's education. Educational needs of children in terms of sending their children to school; (2) Factors encourage female workers who work in the nutmeg industry due to family conditions are lacking to supply income to prosper the family, are not required to have an educational background or have a diploma but only with experience and perseverance. The opportunity is supported by the guarantee of labor welfare after entering the end of work, to work additional to fulfill family needs. Also, it has a purpose and hopes to be able to continue children to school.
The environmental damage is only a result or a symptom, due to the response should be done more fundamentally, in the sense of handling the causes and damage to the environment. Environmental damage due to pressure on natural resources should be addressed. Therefore, related to environmental issues, especially about the forest, this study tries to find out how community participation in the District of West Kawangkoan in the preservation of this forest. This study uses descriptive qualitative methods with quantitative and qualitative data analysis by collecting, managing, presenting, and describing the results of research as they are. The data obtained will be analyzed using diagrams and tables for data can be read easily to find out the answer to the problems. The results showed the forms of community participation of forest protection at West Kawangkoan district included, among others: (1) Community participation at West Kawangkoan district was actively planting replacement trees, such as planting nantu trees, cempaka trees are part of the form of community participation in forest protection. Other participation, the local community is obliged to provide information to the district or village government, if there are people who try to damage the forest carelessly. Besides, government regulations on forest conservation are still obligated by local communities, (2) Several factors become obstacles faced by communities participating in forest protection include: (1) Lack of community intervention in forests at West Kawangkoan especially forest types heterogeneous. Heterogeneous forest in the West Kawangkoan sub-district is overgrown by various kinds of trees. While the tendency of the community is more to maintain homogeneous forests, due to this forest area is reforestation, greening, or the need for wood for the manufacture of Minahasa typical houses, (2) Lack of assistance provided by the government. Assistance is expected by the community by presenting forestry policy as a form to oversee the forests at West Kawangkoan. Besides, other forms of assistance expected by the community are assistance in the form of seeds as well as facilities and infrastructure assistance in preserving forests at West Kawangkoan.
