El artículo aborda como la globalización ha incidido en la educación nicaragüense, particularmente el impacto en el modelo educativo y las culturas escolares del país. Se parte del hecho de que la globalización es un fenómeno no solo económico y comunicacional, sino que abarca esferas estratégicas de la vida social como la educación. Se propicia una mirada crítica del fenómeno educativo a partir de las transformaciones experimentadas por el proceso globalizador iniciado en los años noventa. Se hace una reseña sobre las condiciones de la educación en Nicaragua a partir del período neoliberal que significó un momento de reformas estructurales a la educación, acompañada de la idea de que la educación es una carga para el gasto público y no un factor estratégico del desarrollo humano. Por último, se perfila el nuevo modelo de la educación gestionado por el Gobierno de Reconciliación y Unidad Nacional que dio paso a una visión integradora que ubica al sujeto educativo en un rol social protagonista y reivindicativo. El aporte de este artículo se centra en ofrecer una mirada alternativa sobre la educación en Nicaragua en la que se propone transformar el modelo educativo, que apueste por una educación situada en cada contexto sociocultural.

Esta edición presenta 9 artículos y 1 ensayo, que discuten temas diversos de las ciencias sociales, permitiendo una lectura de la realidad social, política, cultural, educativa y religiosa de los espacios y territorios en los que dichas investigaciones se desarrollan.
En este ensayo se aborda la violencia de género desde la perspectiva de la salud pública en Nicaragua, el objetivo es hacer un abordaje de los factores sociales, culturales y políticos-legales que funcionan como mecanismos estructurantes-normalizadores de permanencia o de cambio de la violencia de género como problema público. El ensayo ha seguido una metodología de observación documental basado en la revisión de fuentes primarias y secundarias. Se derivan del estudio aspectos que vinculan la violencia de género con la salud, la cultura y el rol que juega el Estado de Nicaragua. Se visualizan importantes avances gubernamentales en materia de empoderamiento económico y político de las mujeres nicaragüenses y los avances político-legales orientados a prevenir la violencia de género en Nicaragua.
Centroamérica cumple 200 años de haber pasado un proceso que medianamente la desliga de la administración española directa, llamando a este evento "Independencia de Centroamérica", así, las provincias que eran administradas por España desde la Capitanía General de Guatemala, pasan a generar procesos propios donde las oligarquías criollas, junto a las burguesías locales retoman la administración de sus territorios y profundizan la prosperidad económica de su propia clase social, desarrollándose de esta manera procesos sociopolíticos, económicos y culturales que impregnan las relaciones de las sociedades y sus estados en las nuevas formaciones estamentarias. De estos procesos, los grupos sociales, mestizos, ladinos, indios, afrodescendientes y criollos pobres también han sido sujetos activos y no menos importantes, han liderado acciones que representan intereses colectivos, logrando que en cada país centroamericano se evidencie la huella de sus acciones.Por ser este momento, un momento histórico, la Revista Humanismo y Cambio Social pone en sus manos un número especial que analiza el Bicentenario de "La Independencia de Centroamérica". En Nicaragua, 200 años ha pasado entre 1821 y 2021, de esa temporalidad, las acciones y proezas de los héroes nacionales dan cuenta la memoria de su pueblo, por tanto, los textos aquí presentados, muestran diversos aspectos importantes del desarrollo de Nicaragua en el Bicentenario,
