The incidence and prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus is considered to be one of the most critical problems in the healthcare system. The pathophysiology of the disease has proven to be complicated and multiple factors are involved in its development. Recently Helicobacter pylori was proposed as a new risk factor for developing type 2 diabetes mellitus as well as other disease. This study is a review of the current data involving Helicobacter pylori association with type 2 diabetes mellitus and its complications.
