Introducción. El tratamiento farmacológico de la EPOC se realiza progresiva y escalonadamente de acuerdo a la gravedad y puede ser modificado en función de la respuesta al mismo, por lo cual se han desarrollado instrumentos con el fin de evaluar la satisfacción del paciente con los distintos sistemas de inhalación; sin embargo, estos instrumentos han sido diseñados en su mayoría para pacientes con Asma. Objetivo. Validar el instrumento FSI-10 y determinar el nivel de satisfacción de los dispositivos de inhaloterapia en pacientes con EPOC. Materiales y métodos. Estudio transversal prospectivo y de validación de contenido, muestreo probabilístico estratificado con afijación proporcional; población de 337 pacientes con diagnóstico EPOC de la provincia Centro del departamento de Boyacá, Colombia. Se evaluó el cuestionario FSI-10 mediante la prueba de esfericidad de Bartlett, Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin y alfa de Cronbach. Resultados. La prueba de esfericidad resultó estadísticamente significativa, sugiriendo la existencia de correlaciones dentro de la matriz de diez preguntas. La variación total explicable de las diez preguntas que corresponden a la versión del FSI 10 dio cuenta del 81 % de variabilidad. Los pacientes evaluados reportaron un nivel de satisfacción entre bastante a algo con los dispositivos de inhaloterapia. Conclusiones. Las propiedades psicométricas permiten su utilización en la satisfacción del paciente con dispositivos de medicación inhalada, sin presentar diferencias en la comprensión y teniendo resultado fiables. La satisfacción con los dispositivos de inhaloterapia no es muy alta en la mayoría de la población evaluada. Introducción. La enfermedad Pulmonar Obstructiva Crónica (EPOC) se caracteriza por ser una patología prevenible y tratable, que presenta sintomatología respiratoria permanente por restricción progresiva del flujo aéreo. La rehabilitación pulmonar, ha demostrado mejoría en la actividad física, disminución de la disnea y sintomatología respiratoria, además de mejorar la calidad de vida. El objetivo de este artículo es analizar la evidencia científica disponible sobre la rehabilitación pulmonar en la Enfermedad Pulmonar Obstructiva. Materiales y métodos. Para la búsqueda bibliográfica se incluyeron artículos de las bases de datos PudMed, Jane, Science Direct, Ovid, Medline, Proquest, publicados en los últimos cinco años con evidencia actualizada en relación a la rehabilitación pulmonar EPOC. Se seleccionaron 53 artículos de interés en la temática cumpliendo con los criterios de inclusión. Resultados. Los artículos seleccionados abordan temática de rehabilitación Pulmonar en EPOC, con aplicación de protocolos que incluyen cuestionarios de evaluación respiratoria. Dentro de los resultados analizados, no se evidencia diferencia demográfica significativa entre los grupos intervenidos, la incidencia de participación es de 100 pacientes para cada programa de rehabilitación pulmonar, la media de edad es de 59 años, y los programas de rehabilitación se desarrollan a nivel hospitalario, comunitario y ambulatorio. Conclusiones. Implementar programas de rehabilitación pulmonar en pacientes con EPOC, constituye un elemento fundamental en el manejo de esta enfermedad, mostrando efectos benéficos al optimizar sintomatología, capacidad en el ejercicio, control sobre la enfermedad y mejoría en la calidad de vida.

RESUMENAntecedente: la picoflujometría es una técnica que permite medir la velocidad del flujo espiratorio máximo, para determinar la severidad, en casos de obstrucción y hacer seguimiento al paciente asmático; su uso por parte de Terapeutas Respiratorios se asume como muy frecuente en servicios ambulatorios y hospitalarios.Objetivo: valorar los conocimientos de los profesionales en Terapia Respiratoria de las Instituciones Prestadoras de Servicios de Salud (IPS) de Tunja acerca de la picoflujometría.Materiales y métodos: estudio descriptivo de corte transversal, en el que se evaluaron 40 Terapeutas Respiratorios que laboran en Tunja, a través de la aplicación de un cuestionario estructurado de veinte preguntas de selección múltiple y respuesta única, en el que se indagaron aspectos fisiológicos, técnicos e interpretativos de la picoflujometría. El mismo fue resuelto de forma anónima e individual.Resultados: el promedio de nota general fue de 2,72, ± 0,495 (n=40), en una escala numérica de 0,0 a 5,0. Así mismo el único aspecto que aprueban en conocimientos de la picoflujometría es el técnico con promedio de 3,28 ± 0,87; los conocimientos en el aspecto fisiológico e interpretativo muestran notas promedio de 2,72 ± 0,775 y 2,49 ± 0,797, respectivamente.Conclusiones: se evidencia un bajo nivel de conocimientos sobre picoflujometría. Como procedimiento habitual en el abordaje del paciente asmático no se ha logrado implementar la aplicación rutinaria, por lo que se desconoce su importancia en el medio local. Los resultados de aprobación del aspecto técnico de la picoflujometría evidencian procedimientos muy técnicos en el ejercicio de los sujetos estudiados. El aspecto interpretativo, es en el cual se detecta mayor falencia por parte del grupo evaluado, lo que se correlaciona con la debilidad en lo fisiológico que no permite tener bases sólidas para establecer correlación clínica en el tema. Finalmente, se propone una estrategia de intervención para resolver el problema.Palabras clave: picoflujometría, conocimientos, evaluación, Terapeutas Respiratorias.
