A larva de Chiromyza vittata é descrita pela primeira vez, com base em 12 larvas de último instar e dois pupários. As larvas de Chiromyza foram coletadas em uma Fazenda de Café em Manhuaçú, Estado de Minas Gerais, Brasil. São apresentadas, também, algumas notas biol ógicas. C. vittata é comparada com a espécie australiana de mosca-soldado Inopus rubriceps.
