Os cuidados com a pele vêm crescendo nos últimos anos. Os cremes hidratantes que possuem óleo vegetal em sua formulação contribuem positivamente para a hidratação da pele e aumentam o teor de água na mesma. Os óleos de coco e de palma, eficientes no tratamento de pele e cabelo, possuem capacidade emoliente e promovem a hidratação cutânea sem aumentar sua oleosidade. Neste âmbito, este estudo visou alterar a fase oleosa de cremes hidratantes com 5%, 10% e 15% óleo de coco e óleo de palma, nos quais foram realizadas análises de qualidade, dentre elas os testes de densidade, viscosidade, homogeneidade por centrifugação e estabilidade preliminar. O creme com óleo de coco apresentou boa aparência, textura e aroma, já o com óleo de palma apresentou aroma característico sendo necessária a aplicação de essência. A concentração de 15% apresentou separação de fase. Dentre as amostras de 5 e 10%, ambas os óleos apresentaram qualidade superior. Entretanto, devido ao aspecto e aroma, foi selecionado o creme hidratante com óleo de coco 10% como o mais adequado à venda.
