Mastery of technology is one aspect that teachers and students must have. Learning that is not accompanied by using of technology, will make learning difficult to develop. Edmodo is a technology-based application that is accessed online and can help teachers carry out learning. Edmodo has various features such as creating online classes, arranging agendas, doing digital storage, even teachers can create quizzes, assignments or exams that teachers can design, such as national exams. The purpose of this community service program is to introduce students to what edmodo is and how to use it. The training was carried out by providing materials and tutorials on how to use edmodo. After that, students are welcome to practice using Edmodo and the presenters monitor the practice of the students. Based on interviews conducted with students related to training in the use of edmodo, it was concluded that students felt tremendous benefits from this training and hoped that technology-based learning, especially using edmodo, could be applied by teachers in their schools.
Lingkaran merupakan salah satu materi yang dapat kita temukan dalam mata pelajaran matematika di berbagai tingkat pendidikan baik sekolah dasar, sekolah menengah bahkan perguruan tinggi. Banyak hal menarik yang dapat kita bahas pada materi lingkaran, salah satunya mengenai penggunaan nilai π pada keliling dan luas lingkaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemahaman mahasiswa teknik sipil terkait nilai π yang digunakan untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan pada keliling serta luas lingkaran. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dimana peneliti menjelaskan hasil yang diperoleh dari angket terbuka dan wawancara yang dilakukan kepada 27 responden yang merupakan mahasiswa teknik sipil tingkat 2. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan banyak mahasiswa yang masih mengalami kesulitan dalam menentukan pendekatan nilai π yang tepat, bukan hanya itu bahkan sebelum mensubstitusikan nilai π ke dalam langkah yang tepat, banyak mahasiswa yang masih mengalami kesulitan dalam memilih cara penyelesaian yang tepat sehingga jika dosen ingin membahas penerapan konsep nilai π dalam bidang teknik sipil maka terlebih dahulu harus menjelaskan dari mana nilai itu didapatkan dan menjelaskan kembali materi yang berhubungan dengan nilai π tersebut seperti materi lingkaran.
STEM has long been developed to produce a generation who is ready to face the challenges of the future era. STEM combines four elements (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) in a learning process to make it more meaningful. STEM has been widely applied in developed countries, but in Indonesia, it has received less attention and has not been implemented in the education curriculum. The purpose of this study is to describe teachers' perceptions about the application of STEM, whether it is suitable to be applied in each school where the teacher works, what facilities are needed, and whether it is suitable to be applied during the pandemic Covid-19. This research method used a qualitative descriptive method by distributing open questionnaires to mathematics teachers from various regions. The results showed that most teachers agreed to use STEM in learning mathematics, including its application during the pandemic Covid-19. Besides, many things must be prepared before it can be applied, including the readiness and understanding of teachers regarding STEM, the availability of STEM teaching materials, and the availability of supporting facilities for each student and their ability to use them.
Final Project Writing is the obligation of every student to be able to complete his studies. In the process of preparing the Final Project, one of the important things that need to be learned by students is how to arrange references properly. Currently, there are many applications that can help in the reference management process, one of these applications is Mendeley. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide students with an understanding of how to use the Mendeley application so that there is an increase in the quality of scientific work, especially the Final Project that students will work on. The methods used in this Mendeley training include lectures, practice, discussions and online questions and answers through the Google Meet application. Participants in this Mendeley training were students of the Civil Engineering Study Program, University of Banten Jaya with 10 participants. The results of the training activities showed an increase in students' knowledge and understanding in using the Mendeley application. All students who take part in the training can install Mendeley on their respective laptops, enter documents that are used as reference sources into the Mendeley application, do citations and create a bibliography using the menu found on Mendeley.
