This research is aimed to obtain the empirical evidence about the effect of reflective journal writing on students" writing ability of narrative text at the tenth-grade students of SMA Triguna Utama South Tangerang. The writer used quasi-experimental research which classified into a quantitative research. The population of the research was 273 students from six classes. The sample was chose by using purposive sampling technique which selected into the experimental class and the control class. It consisted of 30 students in each class. Moreover, the writer used the pretest and the post-test as the instruments of the research. In the experimental class, the writer taught the reflective journal writing by using a social media Line Application in teaching writing of the narrative text. While in the controlled class, the writer taught the students by implementing the conventional teaching technique such as asking the students to do the written exercises and answering ten reading comprehension questions based on the narrative text given. Also, the writer collected the data of this research by following some steps such as providing the pretest, providing the treatments during conducted the research, and giving the post-test at the end of the research. The data from the research were calculated by using Microsoft Excel 2017 and then would be analyzed automatically by using SPSS version 20 with the significance level 0.05. Furthermore, the result showed that the t-value of the post-test (2.071) and the gained scores (7.882) were higher than the t-table (1.667) in the significance level of 0.05. Based on the result, if t-value was higher than t-table, it meant that H 0 (null hypotheses) was rejected and H a was accepted. Therefore, it could be concluded that reflective journal writing was effective in improving students" writing ability of narrative text.

The study used a mixed-method. There are three collection data in this study; the first data is the interview; the second is observation; the last is the aural test. There are two questions from this study: first, how did she acquire the vocabulary through anime? Second. How is the influence of watching anime on her Japanese vocabulary acquisition? In era digital, Many of them always deliver their message to Whatsapp. They use Whatsapp for sharing information, expressing gratitude and apologies to their friends and teachers. Expressing apologies via Whatsapp is different from expressing it directly. Writing using Whatsapp will be more creative by using emoji or kaomoji based on the situations. Besides that, they usually abbreviate their writing on Whatsapp. The purpose of this research is to know how Japanese Department Students of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta expressing apologize via Whatsapp in several situations to the teacher, seniors, and friends. Do they use emoji or kaomoji and how they write an apologizing with the Teacher, Seniors, and Friend?. This research uses a descriptive method with qualitative approaches since analyzed descriptively with the qualitative method. The method of analysis used the semantic formula to classify apologies based on the situation. The result of this research is the student's tendency most of them use In-speech act instruction designation (apology content, appreciation, etc.) and they not so using emoji to express apologies to teachers.Furthermore, the aspects which play role in choosing expression and apology strategy are situation, degree of the mistake which was made, and the status of interlocutors.
The present research aims to investigate the key features of turn taking in Mata Najwa talk show about Ragu-ragu Perpu (doubtful of rules of law). In addition, the authors propose to describe the use of turn-taking features between speaker to listener in Mata Najwa talk show. Moreover, The authors utilize a qualitative research methodology by applying a descriptive analysis in the research. To collect the data, the authors select the specific types of turn-taking occured between. In analyzing the data, the authors implemented Jacob L. Mey analysis theory in which selected the types of turn-taking into several forms. For instance, taking the floor (starting up, taking over, interruption, and overlaps), holding the floor, and yielding the floor. The results indicated that the conversation between seven speakers during the talk show are dominated by interruptions and overlapping. It indicates that 24 utterences express the existance of interruptions, while 16 lucutors show the overlapping. Moreover, the speakers tend to use several strategies to hold the talk, including verbal fillers, silent pauses, and lexical repetitions. Within the context of Mata Najwa talk show program, the host of the Mata Najwa tends to apply greetings and questions in yielding the talk to the interlocutors. In conclusion, interruption and overlapping are the two features of turn-taking mostly occured during the conversation.
