Os transtornos mentais representam um grave problema de saúde pública e acomete pessoas em qualquer faixa etária e em ambos os sexos. O objetivo deste estudo foi identificar a prevalência de transtornos mentais e caracterizar o perfil sociodemográfico de usuários do Centro de Atenção Psicossocial II regional de Ji-Paraná, Rondônia. Os dados foram coletados em 6.207 prontuários de usuários ativos no serviço. Conforme determina a Resolução no 466/2012, o projeto de pesquisa foi encaminhado ao Comitê de Ética e Pesquisa (CEP) do Centro Universitário São Lucas Ji-Paraná - RO, tendo sido aprovado sob o CAAE nº 29517319.9.0000.5297. A análise dos dados foi realizada através da estatística descritiva, por meio de frequências relativa e absoluta, com intervalo de confiança de 95%. Os resultados evidenciaram que 59.32% da amostra são usuários do sexo feminino, 39% estão na faixa etária entre 30 a 49 anos, 41% são solteiros e 34.98% têm o ensino fundamental incompleto. Os transtornos mentais mais prevalentes foram os de humor (afetivos), transtornos neuróticos, transtornos relacionados ao estresse e somatoformes, a esquizofrenia, os transtornos esquizotípicos e delirantes, além dos os transtornos mentais e comportamentais devido ao uso de substâncias psicoativas. Conclui-se que os resultados estão em consonância com a literatura, no que tange à faixa etária, ao sexo, estado civil e transtornos mais prevalentes.
