HIGHLIGHTS Luminosity levels promoted different results in Khaya senegalensis seedlings development. Plants in full sun accumulated less biomass than in partial luminosity levels. The nitrogen and magnesium contents changed according to the luminosity. Low interactions of foliar nutrient and luminosity levels in plant development were found.
RESUMOO jatobá-da-mata (Hymenaea courbaril L) pertence à família Leguminosae, possui ampla ocorrência de norte a sul, e está presente praticamente em todos os biomas brasileiros. É uma espécie indicada para recuperação de áreas degradadas destinando-se à recomposição de vegetação arbórea. O experimento foi conduzido na Universidade Federal do Tocantins, campus universitário de Gurupi-TO. Os frutos foram coletados diretamente nas árvores pré-selecionadas, quando estes se apresentaram maduros, foi feito a retirada das sementes e iniciado o processo de quebra de dormência pela escarificação mecânica. O teste de germinação foi realizado entre os meses de dezembro de 2015 e janeiro de 2016, avaliando-se a porcentagem de germinação (G%), índice de velocidade de emergência (IVE) e o tempo médio de germinação das sementes (TMG), submetidas a quatro níveis de sombreamento (0, 30, 50 e 70%). O delineamento utilizado foi o inteiramente casualizado, formado por quatro tratamentos e 20 repetições com 3 sementes por repetição, totalizando 240 sementes. Os resultados indicaram que a porcentagem germinação (G%) e o IVE não sofreram influência dos níveis de sombreamento testados. Para o tempo médio de germinação (TMG) houve diferença significativa, sendo que o tratamento com 50% de sombreamento apresentou menor tempo para germinação das sementes.
