Analisa as relações interdisciplinares entre a Ciência da Comunicação e a Ciência da Informação na produção científica, indexada na base Scopus, de pesquisadores de faculdades de informação e comunicação. Especificamente, identificou-se relações entre a Ciência da Informação e a Ciência da Comunicação por meio da análise da produção cientifica internacional, proporcionando uma visão global da interdisciplinaridade nas áreas. Esta pesquisa, de natureza básica, abordará o tema de forma qualitativa e quantitativa, sendo caracterizada como exploratória e descritiva. Foram utilizados métodos bibliométricos e cientométricos para identificar relações entre a Ciência da Comunicação e a Ciência da Informação. Realizou-se uma estratégia de busca na base Scopus, na qual foram identificados 438 artigos de autores afiliados às instituições de comunicação e informação. Delimitaram-se esses artigos pelos autores vinculados às faculdades de comunicação e informação e de outras áreas em que os autores destas áreas publicaram conjuntamente (coautoria). Foi possível propor categorias de análise interdisciplinares a fim de compreender as relações entre os campos da CC e da CI. Além disso, identificaram-se as relações interdisciplinares das áreas de comunicação e informação nos assuntos (palavras-chave) e das metodologias/técnicas utilizadas nos artigos que foram o corpus desta pesquisa. As áreas mais relacionadas com as ciências de Comunicação e de Informação são: educação e biblioteconomia. Acredita-se que com esta pesquisa é possível apontar potenciais de usos de métodos bibliométricos e cientométricos para estudo de relações interdisciplinares entre as ciências.
