Entre os maiores desafios deste século, destaca-se a superação do conflito entre o desenvolvimento e a preservação do meio ambiente. Dentro de centros urbanos, na maioria das cidades brasileiras, não contaram com um planejamento adequado que conciliasse as novas demandas construtivas com a manutenção das áreas verdes, ocasionando a redução excessiva destes ambientes. Em estudos, foi encontrado que, campi universitários são excelentes locais para estudos do clima por apresentar uma estrutura reduzida de uma cidade, o que facilita a tomada de decisões. Tem-se como objetivo avaliar as alterações no clima promovidas em diferentes formas de uso e ocupação do solo, destacando a necessidade de áreas verdes em ambientes urbanos. Por este motivo, foi avaliado a borda de um fragmento florestal, uma trilha, um canavial e uma área urbanizada no entorno de uma universidade.Para este trabalho, foram adotados quatro ambientes que foram estudados no decorrer do mês de maio de 2018. Através do auxílio de instrumento de medição direta, foi determinado a temperatura da superfície do solo nestes quatro ambientes, que foram a borda de um fragmento florestal, uma trilha, um canavial e área urbanizada. Em cada um destes ambientes foi pré-determinado dez pontos de amostragem que foram coletados em três dias diferentes em 3 semanas distintas do mês de maio de 2018 em diferentes horários que foram pré-determinados (9 horas, 15 horas e 18 horas).Para a análise dos dados coletados foi considerado a variação da temperatura do solo em diferentes pontos distribuídos em cada área estudada, bem como a média de cada dia nos diferentes horários e, por fim, foi realizada uma análise da média geral dos ambientes estudados. Foi feito também uma tabela para cada ambiente que expõe dados como a temperatura máxima, temperatura mínima, amplitude térmica e a mediana apresentada nos pontos de amostragem em cada dia e em cada horário pré-determinado.
