Os escoamentos turbulentos perturbados por pequenas formas são frequentemente encontrados em aplicações industriais e problemas ambientais, e por esta razão têm sido extensivamente estudados por mais de um século. Na natureza, alguns exemplos são os escoamentos de ar sobre colinas, ondas dos oceanos e dunas dos desertos, e escoamentos de água sobre as dunas dos rios. Na indústria, podem-se encontrar nos escoamentos sobre dunas de areia em dutos tais como oleodutos, dutos de esgoto e de dragagem. Compreender seu comportamento é necessário para conhecer como a perturbação afeta a resistência ao escoamento, e os mecanismos de movimento do leito de rios e do transporte de sedimentos. Este trabalho tem como objetivo estudar experimentalmente a perturbação de um escoamento turbulento totalmente desenvolvido por uma forma triangular bidimensional. Duas vazões de água de 8 e 10m 3 /h que correspondem a números de Reynolds de 27500 e 35000, foram impostas sobre uma forma triangular assimétrica fixada na parede inferior de um canal retangular fechado, e os campos de velocidades foram medidos pela técnica de PIV (Velocimetria por Imagem de Partículas). A partir das medidas dos campos instantâneos de velocidades, os campos médios e de flutuações foram calculados, e as tensões de cisalhamento sobre a forma e o campo de produção de turbulência foram determinados. Os comportamentos gerais das velocidades e das tensões obtidas são comparados com analises assintóticas publicadas e a tensão de cisalhamento na superfície da ruga é analisada em termos de instabilidade de um leito granular.
