Este artigo envolve a dinâmica da intervenção humana de ocupação Floresta Nacional (Flona) do Jamari, que vem apresentando significativas mudanças no uso e cobertura do solo, principalmente em sua zona de amortecimento, pela sua relação com a expansão da fronteira agrícola do “Arco de Desmatamento” amazônico que está afetando o corredor ecológico de áreas protegidas de Rondônia, em que a Flona está inserida, associada à interferência da permissão pela legislação para a continuidade das atividades de mineração de cassiterita na Flona, iniciada na década de 1960. Neste contexto, o objetivo consiste em qualificar, quantificar e especializar as classes de uso e cobertura do solo na Flona do Jamari e em sua zona de amortecimento desde o ano 2000, a partir da instituição do Sistema Nacional de Unidades de Conservação da Natureza (Brasil, 2000), ao ano 2017, incluindo avaliação de perdas, ganhos e persistências de áreas dessas classes. Revegetação em áreas degradadas pela atividade de mineração de cassiterita é identificada na Flona do Jamari (2.180.99 hectares, 0,98%), bem como a diminuição de áreas das Classes Pastagem (0,59%), Hidrografia (0,11%), Formação Campestre (0,08%) e Lavouras Temporárias (0,04%), mantendo-se a mesma área utilizada para a Classe Mineração. Na zona de amortecimento houve a substituição 18,62% da Classe Floresta pelas interações de atividades antrópicas socioambientais envolvendo Pastagem (11,91%), Hidrografia (0,97%), Lavouras Temporárias (0,06%) e Infraestrutura Urbana (0,04%), bem como o surgimento da Soja como a nova Classe de Uso e Cobertura do Solo em 2017 na zona de amortecimento (7.791,82 hectares, 1,69%). A perda de 44.695,74 ha dessa Classe Floresta em sua zona de amortecimento evidencia a intensa pressão antrópica na Flona do Jamari como característica ambiental do contexto regional amazônico da expansão da fronteira agrícola do “Arco de Desmatamento” afetando o corredor ecológico de áreas protegidas de Rondônia em que a Flona está inserida, pela carência de políticas de proteção mais eficientes. O processo de revegetação com o aumento da Classe Floresta, coincide com a legislação em vigor referente ao processo de revegetação na recuperação de áreas degradadas pela modificação do solo ao acessar os depósitos minerais do subsolo da Flona.
A Floresta Nacional (Flona) do Jamari tem apresentado frequentes queimadas como componente de ocupação, principalmente em sua zona de amortecimento, no contexto do corredor ecológico de áreas protegidas de Rondônia, que está sendo afetado pela atividade antrópica relacionada à expansão da fronteira agrícola do “Arco de Desmatamento” amazônico, associada à permissão da continuidade da atividade de lavra de cassiterita no interior da Flona, iniciada na década de 1960. Neste contexto, este trabalho tem como objetivo analisar a distribuição de focos de calor na Flona do Jamari e sua zona de amortecimento. Para atingir o objetivo proposto, foi realizada a análise da distribuição espacial e temporal de focos de calor com a utilização do banco de dados de queimadas do INPE, mostrando um número elevado de focos de calor principalmente na zona de amortecimento na Flona, pelo uso indiscriminado de queimadas nos 18 anos de análise (2000 a 2017). A Diminuição das variações anuais desses focos ocorreu com a publicação de legislações ambientais, com 143 incidências (95,3%) na Flona Jamari, nos primeiros 8 anos de análise (2000 a 2007), e 7 (4,6%) nos 10 anos seguintes de análise (2008 a 2017). Na zona de amortecimento foram 2324 incidências (52,5%) nos primeiros 6 anos de análise (2000 a 2005), e 2104 incidências (47,5%) nos 12 anos seguintes (2006 a 2017). Os resultados evidenciam que as ocorrências de queimadas como componente de ocupação encontram-se relacionadas à intensa pressão antrópica com a influência de legislações ambientais e interferências de atividades de mineração de cassiterita.
