Este artigo visa discutir o tratamento dado à Oralidade na Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC) de Língua Inglesa para o Ensino Fundamental -Anos Finais, observando as lacunas em relação às habilidades que envolvem a fala. Para tanto, adotamos como fundamentação teórica a concepção de Oralidade como prática social de Marcuschi (2007) e Reyzábal (1999) e o Dialogismo, de Bakhtin (2003. Nossa pesquisa é aplicada, qualitativa, descritiva, de caráter documental e, para realizá-la, seguimos a metodologia assim apresentada: observamos a quantidade de habilidades definidas para cada um dos eixos de trabalho com Língua Inglesa propostos pela BNCC (Oralidade, Conhecimentos Linguísticos, Leitura, Escrita e Dimensão Intercultural) e também a abrangência das práticas de uso da linguagem falada nelas contidas. Constatamos que o eixo mais privilegiado é o de "Conhecimentos Linguísticos" (24 habilidades), enquanto o Miguilim -Revista Eletrônica do Netlli | v. 10, n. 1, p. 04-18, jan.-abr. 2021 da Oralidade tem 19, ocupando a terceira posição. Verificamos, ainda, que ficaram de fora conhecimentos essenciais, como o da apresentação de seminários a respeito de temas científicos e os que envolvem a produção de textos injuntivos em Língua Inglesa. Essas lacunas apontam para a necessidade de ampliar o espectro de habilidades ligadas à fala na BNCC, sob pena de estarmos negando aos alunos o direito de aprenderem a se comunicar oralmente em Língua Inglesa, considerando os variados contextos de uso.
