A new genus, Calobrachium Gobbi & Azevedo, gen. nov. (type species Calobrachium salum Gobbi & Azevedo, sp. nov.) with seven new species, C. luangum sp. nov., C. miticum sp. nov., C. pongum sp. nov., C. salum sp. nov., C. thanum sp. nov., C. trilinum sp. nov., C. vancum sp. nov. are described and figured. New combination is proposed for C. lepidum (Terayama, 2004), comb. nov. (from Pseudisobrachium Kieffer). A key to species of the genus based on males is given.
ABSTRACT. Taxonomy of Pseudisobrachium (Hymenoptera, Bethylidae) from the Brazilian Atlantic Rain Forest. Pseudisobrachium is a poorly studied Neotropical bethylid genus, although it is one of the most abundant in field collections and museums. Hitherto, there are 19 species of Pseudisobrachium recorded from the Brazilian Atlantic Rain Forest. Material of 45 sites from Brazilian Atlantic rain forest was examined. A total of 134 characters was investigated. Forty eight species were recognized, 17 previously known (P. amplum
Bethylidae are cosmopolitan wasps, with about 100 valid genera and about 2,600 valid species around the world. This study aimed to determine the genera of Bethylidae occurring in Central African Republic. The specimens were collected at three sites using three collecting methods. A total of 1,924 specimens were obtained and 18 genera recorded: Apenesia, Cephalonomia, Dissomphalus, Epyris, Goniozus, Holepyris, Laelius, Pararhabdepyris, Parascleroderma, Plastanoxus, Pristocera, Protisobrachium, Pseudisobrachium, Sulcomesitius, Trachepyris, Trichiscus, Tuberepyris and Zimankos. All of these genera are recorded for the first time from this country.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
