ABSTRACT RESUMO PALAVRAS-CHAVES:Typha sp.; forragem; características morfogênicas.Growth and bromatologic value of Typha sp. under semi-arid conditions Typha sp. plants are rustic and have accelerated development. However, their real growth and potential to animal nutrition are not so well-known. This study aimed to evaluate the shoot biomass production, growth dynamics and chemicalbromatological composition of Typha sp. plants at different cutting heights, under semiarid conditions. A total of four cutting heights (60 cm, 100 cm, 140 cm and 180 cm) were evaluated in a complete randomized design, with five replicates. Plants presented similar production of leaf biomass and heart of palm up to 140 cm height, with higher leaf accumulation above this value. Its heart of palm grows up to 112.5 cm and, above this height, only leaf elongation occurs. It is not recommended to cut this plant bellow 140 cm height, otherwise that can affect the pseudo-stem formation (heart of palm), which supports the leaf biomass accumulation.
The present work aims to determine the prevalence of coagulase negative in a milk goat farm in nordestine semi-arid. We analyzed 168 milk samples of a farm from Santa Maria da Boa Vista in Pernambuco state. The samples were processed in the Animal Microbiology and Immunology Laboratory at UNIVASF. Coagulase negative Staphylococcus spp. were isolated from 45 (26,78%) milk samples, being 40 (88,88%) S. epidermidis and ¿ve (11,11%) S. caprae. Thirty ¿ve (41,66%) goats presented subclinical mastitis, being 25 (71,42%) unilateral mastitis and 10 (28,57%) bilateral mastitis.Every bacterial isolates were susceptible to ciproÀoxacin and norÀoxacin, 44 (97,8%) to nitrofurantoin, (93,4%) to ceftriaxone, (86,9%) to oxacilin, (82,6%) to gentamicin, (71,7%) to sulfametoxazol, (54,3%) to lincomicin, (41,3%) to tetracicline, (36,9%) to ampiciline, (32,6%) to neomicine and (23,9%) to penicilin
