Objetivo: Apreender as representações sociais de acadêmicas de pedagogia sobre vacinação. Método: Trata-se de uma pesquisa de campo de caráter descritivo e abordagem qualitativa, ancorada na teoria das representações sociais, realizada em uma universidade pública no interior da Bahia. Participaram 99 universitárias de pedagogia, maiores de 18 anos, em setembro de 2019, por meio da coleta de dados com a utilização da Técnica de Evocação Livre das Palavras processado no Iramuteq e, um questionário semiestruturado para caracterização do grupo. Resultados: Os achados revelaram representações diferenciadas acerca do processo vacinal, ora enfatizando a prevenção/proteção do indivíduo, ora objetivando no sentimento de medo e na dor, por trás desse ato. Considerações finais: O estudo reforça significados ambivalentes da vacinação, explicitando a necessidade de ampliar a discussão deste tema nos espaços acadêmicos e escolares no intuito de alargar a rede de apoio às famílias para o enfrentamento do movimento antivacina.
