O objetivo deste estudo foi traduzir e adaptar transculturalmente o instrumento Hurt Insult Threatened Scream (HITS) para a Língua Portuguesa para rastreamento de violência doméstica contra idosos. Para tanto, fez-se necessário a utilização de critérios metodológicos rigorosos no intuito de viabilizar uma ampla confiabilidade e posteriormente ser aplicado e utilizado por outros pesquisadores para rastreio da violência doméstica contra o idoso. O estudo foi desenvolvido em cinco etapas para atender as exigências semântica, idiomática, experimental e conceitual que são amplamente utilizadas por outros pesquisadores. Nas primeiras etapas desenvolvidas - tradução inicial, síntese das traduções, retrotradução -, foram produzidas duas versões de escalas, uma por um tradutor com habilitação na língua inglesa e outra por um profissional de saúde. Essas versões foram utilizadas na quarta etapa, que se refere a elaboração final da escala, que foi submetida a avaliação por um comitê dos juízes para atender critérios específicos e relevantes a temática do estudo. Por último, na quinta etapa, foi realizado um pré-teste da escala com 30 idosos. Os dados foram analisados usando o Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) com base na estatística descritiva. Além da versão final, foi aplicado um instrumento para caracterização sócio-demográfica e a Prova Cognitiva de Leganés. De acordo com as análises realizadas pela comissão, dois itens mereceram ser readequados, pois apresentaram baixa compatibilidade com relação às equivalências observadas. Como resultado final, apresentou-se o instrumento HITS-Brasil adaptado para o contexto brasileiro.
Objetivou-se traçar um perfil epidemiológico de idosos participantes de grupos de convivência (GC). Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, de associação, transversal e quantitativo. Participaram 60 idosos ativos nos GC. Realizou-se avaliação socioeconômica, de fragilidade e cognição. Quatro idosos eram frágeis e nenhum idoso apresentou fraqueza muscular. Os achados servem como sentinela para o enfrentamento das necessidades e vulnerabilidades as quais esses idosos estão expostos.
Resumo O artigo analisa a experiência de mulheres com deficiência física que se encontram na posição de serem, simultaneamente, tanto beneficiárias quanto provedoras de cuidado. Baseado em entrevistas realizadas com 14 mulheres, com idades entre 26 e 50 anos, residentes em bairros periféricos na região metropolitana de João Pessoa, seu objetivo é demonstrar: 1) como, num contexto marcado pela pobreza e impossibilidade de acesso aos mercados de cuidado diante da escassez de políticas públicas destinas a esse fim, essas mulheres se tornam responsáveis pela maior parte dos cuidados da casa e da família; e 2) a produção de uma gramática moral da superação que termina por reforçar as lógicas de exploração e apagar suas necessidades e direitos de receber cuidados. Nesse sentido, a discussão aponta as ambiguidades relacionadas ao papel das obrigações morais para a normalização das tensões entre classe, gênero e deficiência.
