O absenteísmo constitui-se na ausência ao trabalho por faltas programadas e não programadas, sendo um problema crucial para as organizações públicas e seus gestores. Este estudo teve como objetivo buscar nos artigos científicos as causas do absenteísmo da equipe de enfermagem nos serviços de saúde brasileiros. Trata-se de uma revisão de literatura, em que foi realizada uma busca no site da Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS) e selecionados 11 artigos para elaboração da discussão. Da análise criaram-se quatro categorias: principais causas do absenteísmo da equipe de enfermagem, principais doenças que acometem os profissionais de enfermagem, taxas de absenteísmo em equipes de enfermagem de serviços de saúde brasileiros e consequências geradas pelo absenteísmo. Conclui-se que estratégias adaptativas devem ser implantadas para promover melhoria na qualidade de vida no serviço para os funcionários, com a finalidade de satisfazer a atividade laboral e, consequentemente, aumentar a qualidade da assistência prestada por este profissional.Palavras-chave: absenteísmo, Enfermagem, administração de recursos humanos, doenças profissionais.
O Cateter Central de Inserção Periférica (PICC) é uma tecnologia de terapia intravenosa que garante ao recém-nascido uma maior sobrevida, além de ser uma técnica privativa do enfermeiro habilitado, haja vista, caber a esse profissional a escolha, manutenção e remoção do acesso eficiente e seguro. O estudo objetivou identificar as vivências dos enfermeiros atuantes na neonatologia acerca do PICC. Trata-se de um de uma pesquisa descritiva com abordagem qualitativa, tendo a entrevista semiestruturada como instrumento de coleta de dados. O estudo foi realizado na unidade de terapia intensiva neonatal do Hospital Universitário Clemente de Faria - Montes Claros-MG, com sete enfermeiros que atuam na neonatologia da instituição. Foi possível verificar que o enfermeiro é o responsável por determinar e avaliar a necessidade do acesso venoso nos neonatos prematuros através do PICC, além de tê-lo como opção primária a ser utilizado pela equipe neonatal e fazê-lo com discernimento.Palavras-chave: unidades de terapia intensiva, enfermagem neonatal, cateterismo periférico, prematuridade.
