Transplantation of high-risk donor lungs that were physiologically stable during 4 hours of ex vivo perfusion led to results similar to those obtained with conventionally selected lungs. (Funded by Vitrolife; ClinicalTrials.gov number, NCT01190059.).
The present study further demonstrated the efficacy and safety of VAL-MAP. VAL-MAP is likely to benefit a broader range of patients than are conventional marking techniques by assisting with both accurate tumour identification and precise determination of resection lines.
We have successfully treated 5 patients who underwent salvage lung resection for early-stage NSCLC after SBRT. We found that surgical resection was feasible after SBRT.
It was confirmed that our patient selection for salvage surgery for isolated LR was associated with favorable survival outcomes. Operability based on multidisciplinary conferences, rather than measurable patient characteristics, is essential for appropriate patient selection for salvage surgery.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
