O objetivo deste ensaio é passar em revista a crítica que vem sendo elaborada por Lazzarato à concepção “positiva” de poder de Foucault, cuja síntese está no conceito de biopolítica. Isto, tomando como marco balizador o modelo neoliberal de governamentalidade, caro a ambos os autores. O pensamento de Lazzarato acolhe apenas parcialmente a noção foucaultiana – segundo ele demasiadamente ampla e pouco atenta às factualidades históricas (atinentes à financeirização, às relações coloniais centro-periferia, às “guerras totais”, às crises e revoluções ininterruptas) - de “arte liberal de governar”. As ideias de “ação sobre a ação” - de um “governo sobre os comportamentos” cujas técnicas consistiriam em incluir, incitar e produzir - seriam úteis à compreensão apenas de uma das duas faces da governamentalidade neoliberal. Ocultando a outra - a da máquina de guerra que estaria constantemente explorando (pelo trabalho), ocultando e matando - o conceito foucaultiano de biopolítica teria prestado uma espécie de desserviço ao que o Lazzarato chama de teorias críticas contemporâneas: teria induzido estas a um diagnóstico inverossímil e estéril sobre o funcionamento do poder nas sociedades ocidentais liberais e neoliberais contemporâneas. Pois tal conceito teria abdicado categorias imprescindíveis como classes sociais, fascismo, guerra, revolução, financeirização e capital.
Neste artigo, meu objetivo é enfrentar os problemas relacionados à redistribuição por meio de uma apropriação crítica do paradigma distributivo. Vou partir dos escritos de dois dos mais importantes críticos do paradigma distributivo na filosofia política contemporânea, Elizabeth Anderson e Axel Honneth, cujos argumentos se sobrepõem de várias maneiras. A concepção de igualdade democrática ou relacional de Anderson partilha uma série de elementos conceituais chave com a teoria do reconhecimento e da liberdade social de Honneth. Os dois autores oferecem pontos de referência eminentes e convergentes para elucidar criticamente problemas de redistribuição em relação a problemas de reconhecimento. Nas seções 1 e 2, apresento os autores a partir de um triplo ponto de vista: como suas respectivas teorias do reconhecimento se sobrepõem e se afastam uma da outra; quais são as implicações disso para os problemas de redistribuição; qual é a contribuição de suas concepções de “igualdade real”. Na seção 3, abordo os dois autores criticamente, do ponto de vista da “igualdade real”, tomando por base as tradições a que eles se referem para elaborar suas respectivas afirmações. Questionando, por fim, a leitura que Anderson faz de Babeuf, o utilizo para levantar diversas questões críticas às versões do igualitarismo apresentadas por ela e por Honneth.
Este artigo pretende explorar as leituras que Friedrich Nietzsche e Michel Foucault, respectivamente, fizeram da filosofia de Platão, na medida em que esta interessa e se articula às temáticas da vida/existência e das relações entre presente e passado (história) no pensamento de cada um dos dois primeiros autores mencionados. Tem-se, em Nietzsche e em Foucault, dois diagnósticos, em certa medida, opostos sobre os efeitos que a filosofia de Platão teria surtido na cultura ocidental. Como compreender esta diferença de interpretações entre autores que entre si estabelecem reconhecida herança e conexão filosófica? Hipótese do trabalho: o gesto de Foucault enquanto genealogista, no momento tardio de seus trabalhos, parece preservar uma relação profunda - a mais profunda ao longo de sua obra - com o modo nietzschiano de fazer filosofia. Isto, na medida em que tal gesto contraria a interpretação de Nietzsche sobre o nascimento – com Platão - da Filosofia. Seguindo a premissa de que a presença de Nietzsche nos trabalhos de Foucault não é apenas nominalmente explícita, mas também (e, sobretudo) oculta, recorreu-se analiticamente - justificando-se o porquê disto - a um texto de juventude do primeiro autor; texto este que o segundo, no mais das vezes, não tomou diretamente como foco proeminente de seus interesses e análises: a Segunda Consideração Extemporânea (1874). À luz deste texto, localizei de forma cotejada importantes modificações ocorridas ao longo do desenvolvimento dos trabalhos de Foucault; modificações estas que seguem uma lógica de aproximação cada vez mais estreita ao pensamento histórico do Nietzsche. Ao culminar nos dois últimos cursos proferidos por Foucault no Collège de France (1983/1984), identifiquei presentes – em partes, propiciado pela função que os Diálogos platônicos exercem nestes cursos - alguns elementos novos que tornam seu pensamento histórico tanto mais afiliado ao de Nietzsche. A questão do presente, tal como elaborada no mencionado texto deste autor - e declarada por Foucault como sendo a tradição por ele seguida - é a pedra de toque à compreensão de como e porque dois diagnósticos distintos e inconciliáveis a respeito de um mesmo objeto não dão prova de inconsistência; mas, ao contrário. A diferença de diagnósticos faz jus aos registros da criação-ação-atividade presentes no texto nietzschiano; assim como também faz jus, arrisco, às elaborações foucaultianas a propósito do dizer-a-verdade arriscadamente em sua relação com o dar prova da própria vida (bios).
