This research focuses on assessing implementing postponement in a cement industry especially for OPC (Ordinary Portland Cement) in Indonesia. The company offers three postponement points; Ciawi and Kampung Rambutan, and Jatiwarna. This research has been done with observational method to map customer condition. Moreover, implementing linear programming model is used to gain optimal solution for allocated truck. The results are, highest proportion of OPC customer is in Jakarta, followed Karawang, and Bogor. The result from linear programming model simulation, Ciawi point is assigned to serve Jakarta and Bogor’ customers, Kampung Rambutan point is assigned for Jakarta and Kawarang’ customers, and Jatiwarna point is prepared for Jakarta, Karawang, Bekasi, Lampung, Pekalongan, Tangerang, and Serang’ customers. So, implementing postponement can increase customer satisfaction without adding higher cost such as investment cost. The cement industry encounter effectiveness and responsiveness even tough, some problem shall be taken such as double administration process (manual and computerized).
Planning production capacity to meet demand is a challenge for companies. Inventory and fulfillment rate problems become an issue in every planning process. The company aims to minimize inventory and maximize the level of demand fulfillment. Small production activities will minimize total inventory but reduce the level of demand fulfillment, and vice versa. The system dynamic modeling was chosen to model the condition of the production system in determining the medium-term strategy. Dynamic systems are very appropriate for simulating policies and evaluating the conditions of production systems. System dynamic modeling using Vensim software. Based on the model results, it is found that the installed capacity production will be able to meet the demand for the next six years. To meet demand in the next 8 years, the company can increase its grinding machine pro
Purbalingga is a new mass transportation mode. Recently, the execution of the BRT has been going on for three years. In terms of service standards to ridership, the BRT has been fulfilled the requirement. However, during the execution, it shall be supported by the non-ridership (local communities) who get the impact as public engagement. The non-ridership impact is captured by observing their presumptions. This study uses quantitative method and survey technique to collect the data by spreading questionnaires to the non-ridership in Purwokerto and Purbalingga. The collected data is analyzed by Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Structural Equation Modelling Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). The ANOVA results show that gender, age ratio, and residence (living area) are significant presumption factors. According to SEM-PLS model, the R-squared of non-ridership presumption variables toward the BRT execution as excellent public transportation is at 51.8% (moderate level). It is found that the economic variable affects the excellent public transportation variable is at 41.4%, and the social variable have a correlation with the excellent public transportation variable is at 36.2%, but not with the environment variable (5.6% only). Following up these findings, it is recommended that public engagement through the non-ridership presumption will lead the BRT provider to purpose some programs to improve the service and increase the occupancy. So that, the proposed program will attract the sense of awareness and public engagement of the non-ridership toward the BRT execution.
Village-owned enterprises (BUMDesa) and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are enabled to strengthen the rural economy. The two entities shall collaborate and will help the rural economy become more adaptive and sustainable. One approach to collaborate is using digital technology, such as web applications. It will allow businesses to survive by gaining potential networking and cross-border markets through online marketing. This collaboration can be done using a digital technology approach where both roles are needed to improve the village economy. If this technological approach is not implemented, then marketing will be limited so that it will have an impact on the village economy. The qualitative and scrum approach is used to develop the digital web. The result shows differences between BUMDesa and SMEs' roles toward the web application. BUMDesa can make better managerial through digital businesses so that BUMDesa can accelerate SMEs' productivity by opening new markets and business perspectives to SMEs. The testing process is carried out to prevent the failure of website development by implementing a usability test, namely the Usability Scale (SUS) System. The tests carried out show that the proposed design gets a good score of 69.63, so it is effective and efficient to be implemented in website development. SMEs can gain a broader market, improve their production standard, and add production capacities. The collaboration will map and profile their strengths and weaknesses to minimize the implementation gap. In addition, the BUMDesa and SMEs will invest in social capital, which means the ability to establish cooperation, trust, and participation, in the local community to benefit from the social network. It will improve innovation capability
