R e s u m e nExiste una gran cantidad de material educativo computarizado para la enseñanza de conceptos científicos y tecnológicos a los cuales pueden acceder fácilmente los docentes. Sin embargo, no todos los materiales existentes cumplen los requisitos de calidad para ser utilizados en el aula. Ante ésta situación, en el presente trabajo se propone un modelo que le facilitará al docente la selección de software educativo, adecuado a los requerimientos de su actividad. El modelo se fundamenta en tres aspectos: pedagógico, técnico y tecnológico. Cada aspecto está conformado por características que son evaluadas a través de indicadores. Como resultado se elaboró una herramienta computacional que permite al docente del área de tecnología e informática seleccionar el material de apoyo más adecuado a los lineamientos curriculares colombianos para ésta área. Tool for the selection of educational software used at the technology area in basic education a b s t R a c tThere is a lot of educational computing material to learn scientific and technological concepts that can be easily accessed by teachers. However, not all the materials are appropriated to be used in the classroom. Taking into account the above information, this article proposes a model to facilitate the choice of educational software to be employed by teachers, according to the requirements of their activity. The model is founded in three aspects: pedagogical, technical and technological. Each aspect is made up by characteristics that are evaluated through indicators. As a result, a computing tool was developed that allows the teachers of computers an technology area the choice of educational software that matches the curricular requirements established in Colombia for this area of studies.
