In this paper, a new step‐up/down DC–DC converter based on switched capacitors (SCs) is proposed. This converter can provide highly variable voltage gain and merits like decreased voltage stress on power switches and capacitors. Besides, due to its modular configuration obtained by utilizing switched‐capacitor cells, it can generate high voltage gain in low‐duty cycles. In addition, the proposed converter has a continuous input current. The theoretical analysis of the proposed converter has been done, and its operating modes have been investigated. In addition, the proposed structure has been compared with some existing converters to highlight the advantages and disadvantages. Finally, to confirm the claims and theoretical results, a laboratory sample of the converter for 200 W has been implemented, with an efficiency of 91.34%.
