A preminent class is a class consisting of selectedstudents based on strict requirements which are academic potency, IQ and highly sufficient student creativity. MTsN 2 of Bandar Lampung has held the preminent class program. The research is aimed at finding out implementation of the Preeminent class program at MTsN 2 of Bandar Lampung by using the qualitative method. The research shows that: a) The implementation of the preeminent class program can improve Islamic schools’ image, b) Supporting factors of the implementation of the preminent class program are establishment of cooperation network between curriculum development team of MTsN 2 of Bandar Lampung and MGMP, availability of competent teachers, a proactive role of Islamic school committee in facilitating the implementation of the preeminent class program, c) Backstop factors are non-maximum students’ readiness in following the preminent class learning process, some of the students have not actively used English, lack of reward from the headmaster on performance of the students teaching the preeminent class, some of the teachers have not used multimedia facilities to their maximum extent, d) The Ministry of Religion shall notice the need of facilities and infrastructures for Islamic schools organizing preminent class program, and the need of teachers’ professionalism by holding workshops, seminars and work trainings.Kelas unggulan merupakan kelas yang berisi siswa pilihan yang diseleksi berdasarkan syaratsyarat yang ketat yaitu potensi akademik, IQ dan kreatitifitas siswa yang sangat memadai. MTsN 2 Bandar Lampung telah menyelenggarakan program kelas unggulan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan program kelas unggulan di mtsN 2 Bandar Lampung dengan menggunakan metode kualitatip. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: a) penyelenggaraan program kelas unggulan dapat meningkatkan citra madrasah, b) faktor pendukung pelaksanaan program unggulan adalah terbentuknya jaringan kerjasama tim pengembang kurukulum MTSN 2 Bandar Lampung dengan mgmP, tersedianya guruguru yang berkompeten, peranan komite madrasah yang proaktif dalam memfasilitasi pelaksanaan program kelas unggulan, c) faktor penghambatnya adalah kesiapan siswa yang belum maksimal dalam mengikuti pembelajaran kelas unggulan, sebagian siswa belum aktif berbahasa Inggris, kurangnya reward dari kepala sekolah terhadap kinerja guru yang mengajar kelas unggulan, sebagian guru belum maksimal menggunakan sarana multimedia, d) Kementerian Agama perlu memperhatikan kebutuhan sarana prasarana pada madrasah yang menyelenggarakan program kelas unggulan, dan perlunya peningkatan profesionalisme guru melalui penyelenggraan workshop, seminar dan lokakarya.

One of the issues which has been attracted by Muslim scholars is the religious moderation mainstreaming. Pesantren, as the oldest and indigenous educational institution in Indonesia, is inseparable from such issue. This study examines the development of moderation a basic idea of pesantren. This paper is divided into three parts. First is introducing the articulation of moderation in pesantren from various perspectives. Second is discussing the idea of Arkoun and al Jabiri’s ideas and its relation on moderation and pesantren. Third is elaborating the moderation of pesantren from its curriculum’s and extracurricular activities. This paper concerned on how Islamic moderation has shaped and disseminated through the learning process in pesantren?. Furthermore, this research was conducted at five pesantren in Kediri, East Java by considering their typologies and management. By using the interview method, literature study and in-depth observation, this research has produced data related to the research theme. Then, the results of research are to explore the complexity and continuity of Islamic moderation in pesantren and to prove that moderation mainstreaming in the grassroot is not static but flexible and dynamic as well as being fluid and multi-dimensional through the learning process and the extracurricular activities.

Research on the Implementation of Teacher Professional Education for Islamic Religious Education Teachers at UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Serang Banten aims to find out the implementation of the Teacher Certification Program through PPG in position for GPAI with a qualitative method. The results of the study concluded that: (a) the PPG program has a very large role in improving the quality of PAI teachers, (b). The input component has been well proven by the readiness of participants, quality of lecturers, facilities and infrastructure that support the PPG program, c ) . Components of the learning process of the online learning system (online) and face to face directly through workshops, Peer Teaching, and PPL. Everything went well, although not optimally, (d). The output component of the PPG implementation was from 90 students that had participated in the PPL it was recorded that 100% of students passed the performance test. Meanwhile, in the knowledge test 58 participants (64%) passed and 32 people (36%)   Abstrak Penelitian Implementasi Penyelenggaraan Pendidikan Profesi Guru bagi Guru Pendidikan Agama Islam di UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Serang Banten bertujuan mengetahui untuk mengetahui implementsi penyelenggaraan Program Sertifikasi Guru melalui PPG dalam jabatan bagi GPAI dengan metode kualitatip. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa: (a) Program PPG sangat besar peranannya terhadap peningkatan kualitas guru PAI, (b) Komponen input sudah baik terbukti dengan kesiapan peserta, kualitas dosen, sarana dan prasarana yang mendukung program PPG, (c) Komponen proses pembelajaran melalui sistem pembelajaran Daring (online) dan tatap muka secara langsung melalui loka karya, Peer Teaching, dan PPL. Semua berjalan dengan baik meskipun belum maksimal, d) Komponen output dari penyelenggaraan PPG adalah dari 90 mahasiswa yang telah mengikuti PPL, tercatat 100 % mahasiswa lulus dalam uji kinerja. Sedangkan pada ujian pengetahuan peserta yang lulus adalah 58 orang (64%) dan yang tidak lulus atau harus mengulang sebanyak 32 orang (36%).

This research is aimed at identiffing the effect of formative assessment in improving the results of study of students on mathematics lesson interconnected with the initial ability of students. The research was conducted at MAN 9 in DKI Jakarta in the second semester of 2007-2008 academic year. The sample was selected by applying simple random sampling technique and the site was 80.This research used experiment method with factorial design 2 x 2 and the data were analyzed by using Two-way Anova and T- test at/the level of significance a = 0,05.

This study aims to map the performance of Madrasah Aliyah, either has already or not yet accredited from the aspects of its education component and also to identify what are the the needs of madrasah in order to fulfill the accreditation criteria. The research on the requirements of Madrasah Accreditation use a survey method in 9 provinces (North Sumatra, Lampung, Riau, Banten, West Java, Central Java, East Java, South Sulawesi, NTB). The research showed that the fulfillment of the eight National Education Standards (NES) influence the quality of madrasah education and contribute to the success of accreditation. Directorate of Madrasah, Ministry of Religious Affairs provide guidance to madrasahs in accordance with its level of accreditation through a sustainable program  for  strengthening  Madrasah  in  the  field of managerial, human resources, facilities and infrastructure. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk memetakan performan Madrasah Aliyah yang sudah dan belum terakreditasi dari aspek standar Nasional Pendidikan (SNP) dan mengetahui apa yang menjadi kebutuhan madrasah dalam memenuhi kriteria akreditasi. Penelitian Studi Kebutuhan Akreditasi Madrasah menggunakan metode survey Madrasah Aliyah di 9 propinsi (Sumatera Utara, Lampung, Riau, Banten, Jawa Barat, Jawa Tengah, Jawa  Timur,  Sulawesi  Selatan,  NTB).  Hasil  penelitian menunjukkan pemenuhan delapan Standar Nasional Pendidikan (SNP) mempengaruhi peningkatan mutu penyelenggaraan pendidikan madrasah dan berkontribusi pada keberhasilan akreditasi. Direktorat Madrasah Kementerian Agama sebaiknya memberikan pembinaan kepada madrasah sesuai dengan jenjang akreditasi madrasah melalui program penguatan madrasah berkelanjutan di bidang manajerial, SDM, dan sarana prasarana.
