World Health Organization declared the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) outbreak, caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 to be a pandemic on March 12, 2020. In response to that, Malaysia has announced movement control order effective on March 18, 2020, leading to the near-total closures of education center. University closures impact not only students, lecturers, and families, but have far-reaching economic and societal consequences. In response to that, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) has introduced the use of online distance learning and open educational applications and platforms that lecturers can use to reach learners remotely and limit the disruption of education. Even though UiTM has already adopted the integrated face-to-face and online learning approach in the classroom since many years ago, however, the commencement of solely using online learning platform, in the absence of face-to-face meetings is challenging. In addition, it is also crucial to note that the previous study on the determinants of the intention and effective use of online distance learning is scarce. Thus, this study seeks to identify the significant relationship between the intention and the effective use of an ODL among the students. Findings from this study reveals that four out of five determinants (performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating condition and intrinsic value) found to be significantly relationship with the behavioral intention of the students to use online distance learning. Behavioral intention also was found to be significant with use behavior. Although the intrinsic values (new determinants) has contributed to the theory, it is recommended that the same study will be carry out to the entire of education center, either public or private. Today’s education institutions are constantly striving to develop and enhance the quality of employees to achieve a competitive advantage in the education market. Investing in developing the human capital quality has become a vital part of the institution strategy in managing the resources. In conjunction with the government aims in enhancing the quality of education system the institution nowadays is striving to nurture the lecturer’s capabilities towards the strategy. This paper aims to assess the internal consistency of data therefore; the further analysis procedure can be carried out systematically. For this purpose, the Cronbach’s alpha coefficient is used in validating the adapted questionnaire. It is a necessary procedure for the pilot testing phase to measure the strength of consistency as it is a well-known and consistent method to measure the reliability of items in the instrument. As for the example of practical, the data derived from a study which was conducted to 345 lecturers from 9 polytechnic campuses in East Coast Malaysia (Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang) was applied. The questionnaire consists of 63 questions with 7 scales that were used to identify the internal consistency. The preliminary analysis of the reliability analysis resulted in strong associations (greater than 0.6) for all variables. The finding obtained has proven that the research’s instrument has high association of consistency to enhance the quality of the study. Malaysia has recorded the second highest involuntary turnover rate at 6% and third highest voluntary rate at 6.5% in South East Asia. Employee loyalty becomes critical towards employer. Thus, the purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between career development, compensation, job security, work environment and employee loyalty. In conducting this study, convenience sampling technique has been employed and respondents have been chosen in the area of Kuala Lumpur. Hypothesis were tested using regression analysis by using Smart-PLS. Based on the result, career development, compensation and job security were found to be significant with employee loyalty. However, work environment was found to be not significant with employee loyalty. It is suggested for future research to explore other variables in order to find the factors contributed in employee loyalty. In Malaysian public universities, managing customer service experiences has emerged as a critical concern among university policymakers. Every stakeholder in universities is now viewed as a potential source of revenue, including every student as a customer and every member of staff as an internal customer. The Academic Affairs Department (AAD) is a cornerstone of the university. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the AAD to satisfy the requirements of its customers, particularly its internal customers which is the university's academic personnel. Academic personnel service experience is directly correlated with student happiness and university success. Therefore, it is vital to comprehend the aspects that affect the service experience of academic personnel. Hence, the main objective of this study is to examine the influence of perceived market orientation and self-efficacy on academic staff members' customer service in Malaysian public universities. According to the study paradigm, perceived market orientation and self-efficacy significantly impact how well customers are treated. The study made use of the survey method and quantitative research. A self-administered questionnaire was created to collect data from the academic staff of 454 Malaysian public universities. In this investigation, proportionate stratified random sampling was used. Findings from Partial Least Square 4.0 revealed significant correlations between perceived market orientation, self-efficacy, and customer service experience. Overall, this study supported the need to emphasize perceived market orientation and self-efficacy while managing the customer service experience of academic personnel in public universities.
This study attempts to construct a model assessment of SEM SmartPLS application in assessing the contribution of technology infrastructure support on human capital determinants among TVET lecturers. The compatibility concept of person-organization among academicians is one of the strategic aims for the Ministry of Education as it was stated in Malaysia Education Blueprint 2015-2025 (higher Education). The Ministry believed a sustainable growth of this group is a crucial focus since they play an important role to accomplish the country's education objective. Therefore, their professional profile needs to be consolidated in parallel with the education ecology. Apart from that, technology infrastructure support is also seen as a significant tool in boosting the quality of public education institutions where the chalk and paper method is no longer relevant in current education environment. As the most practical solution information technology infrastructure was adapted by organization to assist the activity even with a non-face-to-face situation. The shifting allows the people to attend any virtual courses as the objective to improve their professionalism in academic sector. This study assesses the role of ability, education, experience, knowledge, skill and training as the determinants of human capital and its significant contribution towards the institution performance. Then technological infrastructure supports also been examine as the mediator to recognize its affect towards performance. A theoretical model was underpinned by the theory of Human Capital (HC), Resource Based View theory and Malcolm Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence, which consist of six independent constructs, one mediating construct and one dependent construct. Apart from that this study discuss some relevant issues which contributes to TVET lecturers HC investment such as shortage of qualified, skill gaps, lack of industrial exposure and pedagogical knowledge. To achieve the research objectives a quantitative study has been carried out to among lecturers from 9 polytechnic campuses in the East Coast, Malaysia. A survey consisting of 63 items with 7 Likert scale was distributed to 1478 of TVET lecturers and 398 samples were successfully collected using the Stratified Sampling procedure. Next data
