Seemingly monophasic Zn-doped ceria nanocrystals contain substantial amounts of X-ray amorphous ZnO not detectable by standard XRD. This ZnO can be incorporated upon annealing at temperatures up to 1300 °C.
An excellent correlation between the structural properties and OSCs of dual-phase Zn-modified ceria nanocrystals is established. The detrimental effect of the secondary X-ray amorphous ZnO phase on soot oxidation is elucidated.
Sustained production of methane directly from water and carbon dioxide by solar-driven thermochemical cycles is achieved for the first time with rhodium on ceria.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
