Nanoporous ZnMn 2 O 4 nanorods have been successfully synthesized by calcining b-MnO 2 /ZIF-8 precursors (ZIF-8 is at ype of metal-organic framework).I fm easured as an anode materialf or lithium-ion batteries,t he ZnMn 2 O 4 nanorods exhibit an initial discharge capacity of 1792 mA hg À1 at 200 mA g À1 ,a nd an excellent reversiblec apacity of 1399.8 mA hg À1 after 150 cycles (78.1 %r etention of the initial discharge capacity). Even at 1000mAg À1 ,t he reversible capacity is still as high as 998.7 mA hg À1 after 300 cycles. The remarkable lithium-storage performance is attrib-uted to the one-dimensional nanoporous structure. The nanoporous architecture not only allows more lithium ions to be stored,w hich provides additionali nterfacial lithiumstoragec apacity,b ut also buffers the volumec hanges,t oa certain degree, duringt he Li + insertion/extraction process. The results demonstrate that nanoporousZ nMn 2 O 4 nanorods with superior lithium-storage performance have the potentialt ob ec andidates for commercial anode materials in lithium-ion batteries. Unique hierarchical mosaic-structure SiO x /C@CoO nanosheets were successfully synthesized from SiO x /C nanospheres embedded in CoO nanosheets through a high-energy ball milling and hydrothermal self-assembly process. The SiO x /C@CoO material exhibited good cyclic performance with a reversible discharge capacity of 1079 mAh g À 1 over 250 cycles at a current density of 1000 mA g À 1 . It also displayed an excellent rate capability (with an average specific reversible discharge capacity of 777.8 mAh g À 1 at 2000 mA g À 1 and 480 mAh g À 1 at 5000 mA g À 1 ). The stable skeleton structure of SiO x /C-embedded CoO nanosheets and the synergistic effect between the two materials should be responsible for the improvement of the lithium storage. This work proposes a feasible approach to promote CoO application in lithium-ion batteries.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
