In this study, we investigated the Polyurethane paint based on palm oil with the addition of nanoparticles montmorillonite as a heat-resistant. The composites with 1 wt%, 3 wt% and 5 wt% of bentonite filler content obtained by synthesizing in situ were investigated and compared to the neat polyurethane matrix material. The processing of bentonite for montmorillonite was done through several stages including: sedimentation, ultrasonication, dried, sieved with a 200 mesh sieve, then characterized. Untreated MMT were isolated and modified with CTAB. The addition of MMT into polyurethane, as much as 5% wt, can increase the heat as evidenced by the TGA test. The TGA results indicated an enhanced thermal stability, as compared to the neat polyurethane. The onset degradation of neat polyurethane and weight reduction began at a temperature of 50-150°C and completely decomposed at the temperatures of 380°C and for PU MKS-MMT reduction, the initial weight started at a temperature of 150-200°C in 5 %wt and decomposed in the end at a temperature of 490°C. In this research, we also tested the gloss adhesive polyurethane with the addition of MMT; the result stated that the addition of 5%wt MMT can improve the adhesion of polyurethane. The addition of MMT in polyurethane can also enhance the gloss polyurethane compared with polyurethane coated without the addition of MMT.
Land used for residence and agriculture is a source of life, especially in Indonesia. This is because most of the sources of livelihood, especially those living at the sub-district level, are mostly engaged in agricultural activities. Therefore, land data collection is very important, starting at the sub-district level. Unfortunately, the information system that supports this does not yet exist, especially in the Sukabumi district. Hence, this study to overview and use a web-based Geographic Information System (GIS) for land mapping, especially in Sukabumi District, Indonesia. The method used in this study was to conduct interviews with land officials at the sub-district level and several communities in the area. Information system problems from potential users are then addressed by designing a web-based information system and integrating it with GIS applications. The developed information system provides menus and sub-menus adapted to the needs of potential users. So far, the information system has been accessible and can help land officials at the sub-district level and several communities in the area. This will provide the level of detailed information that local communities need in responding to information related to their lands to minimize social conflicts.
Business activities in the food and beverage sector have become one of the jobs for the community. This business has a good position in supporting the economy. But until now it has not developed optimally and various problems have hampered the pace of this business. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors affecting business success of micro and small food and beverage enterprises in Banda Aceh by using the Multiple Regression Analysis model. The results shown that the enterprises characteristics and managerial abilities influence enterprises success, while business location factors do not affect enterprises success.
The plantation is a strategic sector in poverty alleviation. In the Aceh Tengah district, coffee is one of the leading plantation commodities that can increase the pace of the regional economy. Gayo coffee has a distinctive aroma and has a high price. Although generally, the people there are active in producing coffee, there are still poor people. It is necessary to analyse the impact of coffee production in reducing poverty in farming communities in Aceh Tengah district. This study uses a probit regression analysis method to see the characteristics of coffee farmers with significantly different non-coffee farmers. It then uses a Propensity Score Matching (PMS) analysis to see the impact of coffee production in reducing poverty farming communities in Aceh Tengah district. This study indicates that the characteristics significantly differ between coffee farmers and non-coffee farmers are age, education, access to food, eating little food, and assets having a motorbike. The per capita consumption of coffee farmers is not higher than that of non-coffee farmers, but the holdings of coffee farmers are more than those of non-coffee farmers.
