A dual band sleeve dipole antenna for WLAN application is presented. The antenna covers both the WLAN bands. The proposed antenna exhibits excellent omni-directional characteristics and reflection properties S11 values which are less than -10db. The dipole is constructed from two concentric hallow cylinders having different radius and different lengths. The complicated balun network is avoided by feeding the antenna at the center with the help of coaxial cable. The scattering parameters and radiation patterns are simulated using CST microwave studio. These simulation results are validated by the measured results. The antenna is best suitable for airborne and outdoor applications.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
