ABSTRACT. Genetic variability at 11 microsatellite markers was analyzed in five naturalized/local Brazilian horse breeds or genetic groups. Blood samples were collected from 328 animals of the breeds Campeira (Santa Catarina State), Lavradeira (Roraima State), Pantaneira (Pantanal Mato-Grossense), Mangalarga Marchador (Minas Gerais State), as well as the genetic group Baixadeiro (Maranhão State), and the exotic breeds English Thoroughbred and Arab. We found significant genetic variability within evaluated microsatellite loci, with observed heterozygosis varying between 0.426 and 0.768 and polymorphism information content values of 0.751 to 0.914. All breeds showed high inbreeding coefficients and were not in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. The smallest genetic distance was seen between the Pantaneira and Arab breeds. The principal component analyzes and Bayesian approach demonstrated that the exotic breeds have had a significant influence on the genetic formation of the local breeds, with introgression of English Throroughbred in Pantaneira and Lavradeira, as well as genetic proximity between the Arab, Pantaneira and Mangalarga Marchador populations. This study shows the need to conserve traits acquired by naturalized horse breeds over centuries of natural selection in Brazil due to the genetic uniqueness of each group, suggesting a reduced gene flow between them. These results reinforce the need to include these herds in animal genetic resource conservation programs to maximize the genetic variability and conserve useful allele combinations.

INTRODUÇÃOAo longo dos anos, os recursos hídricos sempre determinaram a existência humana, a instalação ou a migração das populações em diversas áreas do planeta, bem como o surgimento ou o desaparecimento de civilizações. Conforme discutido por Rodrigues & Malafaia (2009a), o uso dos recursos hídricos permitiu que civilizações se abastecessem de alimentos e exportassem o excedente, criando riquezas e associando a água à melhor qualidade de vida das pessoas. Por outro lado, o uso inadequado desses mesmos recursos, observado, sobretudo, nas últimas décadas, tem proporcionado impactos negativos à qualidade natural desses recursos e à própria humanidade.Conforme destacado por Moraes & Jordão (2002), até a década de 1920, à exceção das secas da região nordestina, a água no Brasil não representava problemas ou limitações, período este que deu origem à cultura da abundância, que prevalece até os dias atuais. Contudo, ainda segundo Moraes & Jordão (2002), o comportamento do homem tem uma tendência em sentido contrário à manutenção do equilíbrio ambiental, e, assim, os recursos hídricos são gravemente afetados. A expansão e as modificações frenéticas dos processos produtivos, o crescimento populacional, a ocupação de variados nichos ecológi-cos, as migrações e urbanizações descontroladas têm desestabilizado as condições de equilíbrio dos recursos ambientais, entre eles os hídricos (Malafaia & Rodrigues, 2009a). Ações prejudiciais ao meio ambiente aumentam significativamente as condições para que os recursos hídricos se deteriorem e para que as populações tenham graves doenças e, consequentemente, uma baixa qualidade de vida.Nesse sentido, muitos estudos têm se dedicado a estudar aspectos da percepção ambiental 1 da população, para um melhor planejamento e compreensão da visão da população sobre o ambiente e seus problemas. Conforme discutido por Del Rio & Oliveira (1999), fazem-se necessários estudos que enfoquem a percepção da população em relação a diferentes aspectos ligados ao meio ambiente, pois no uso cotidiano dos espaços, dos equipamentos e serviços urbanos, a população sente diretamente o impacto da qualidade ambiental. Pode-se dizer que o estudo da percepção ambiental da população possibilita obter informações importantes, sobretudo, por que pode haver discrepâncias significativas entre os problemas 1 Considera-se "percepções" não somente as formas como os atores sociais vêm o meio ambiente e/ou os problemas ambientais. This study assessed the growth of Canavalia ensiformis (used as green manure), irrigated with different concentrations of wastewater. We evaluated the early, vegetative and reproductive development of the species. The experimental designs were completely randomized with five treatments and 30 repetitions (for the evaluation of early development) and 8 repetitions (for the evaluation of the vegetative and reproductive development). Five groups were established: A100 -100% of water supply, L100 -100% of water coming from a stabilization pond for domestic sewage, L75, L50 and L25 -mixtures of supply water and wastewater from the stabilization pond (25-75%, 50-50% and 75-25%, respectively). The results show that the treatments did not affect the initial development of the species, since no differences were observed between groups, when comparing variable germination speed index (GSI), germination mean time (GMT), germination rate (GR), seedling length and dry weight. On the other hand, the L100 and L75 groups had higher shoot length, total number of leaves, stem diameter, number of branches and pods produced. The number of flower buds was higher in group L100. Regarding the fresh biomass and dry areas of the aerial parts, roots and total phytomass, the L100 and L75 groups showed statistically higher values. It is concluded that the best plant growth occurred in groups L100 and L75, with fertirrigation containing 100% and 75% wastewater, respectively.

The change in the dietary habits of the population aiming at a healthy diet has caused an increase in the consumption of vegetables, boosting the production, thus having a need to produce them throughout the year. Due to the high content of minerals and vitamins, lettuce is one of the most consumed vegetables in Brazil, but its cultivation during the summer suffers limitations due to the high temperatures, being a cultivar adapted to a mild climate, causing losses of production, Adding value to the product in that period. Thus, hydroponic cultivation has been widely adopted by several producers. The objective of this work was to evaluate the performance of three lettuce cultivars in the hydroponic system by NFT (Nutriente Film Techinique), submitted to five different dosages to analyze their development when submitted to these conditions. The cultivars analyzed were Americana, Corabela and Malice. The dosages tested were 80%, 90%, 100% (control, as a standard dosage recommended by the manufacturer of the tested product), and also at the 110% and 120% dosages of the reference dosage. There was significant interaction between solution and variety factors, indicating that they act dependent on each other. It was concluded that the tested values of nutrient solutions caused a significant difference between the tested variables benefiting or harming the varieties, consequently the quality and production.
