This search aimed to investigate
the genetic diversity of 17 different
phenotypes collected from a Lepidium sativum plant
from different regions of Iran province and investigate kinship relationships.
DNA was extracted from leaf samples using the CTAB method. To evaluate
8 RAPD primers’ genetic diversity, a total of 70 bands were
amplified, 47 polymorphic bands and 23 single bands, with the highest
number of OPJ-10 primers with 13 bands and the lowest number of OPA-09
and OPB-01 primers with five bands. The OPJ-10 primer had the highest
EMR values of 10.8 and β of 0.9, and this value was zero in
the EMR, β primers OPB-01 and OPA-09. In cluster analysis using
the UPGMA method (with a genetic distance of 0.84), the six studied
populations were classified. The highest genetic distance was obtained
between Kerman and Joupar populations (with a genetic similarity of
0.69), which can be used to produce hybrid cultivars and heterosis
productivity.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
