Ujian sekolah merupakan salah satu cara untuk mengetahui berhasil atau tidaknya proses belajar mengajar selama setengah semester atau satu semester atau beberapa semester. Penelitian ini bertujuan: (1) untuk mengetahui prosedur penyusunan tes ujian tengah semester pada mata pelajaran Al-Qur’an Hadis di SMP; (2) untuk mengetahui tingkat validitas tes ujian tengah semester pada mata pelajaran Al-Qur’an Hadis di SMP. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian campuran (mixed method kualitatif-kuantitatif model Sequential Explanatory Design). Jenis data penelitian ini terdiri dari kualitatif berupa informasi proses penyusunan tes ujian dan data kuantitatif berupa nilai hasil ujian tengah semester. Untuk data proses penyusunan tes dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan instrumen wawancara kepada pihak-pihak yang terkait dengan penyusunan tes seperti wakil kepala sekolah bidang kurikulum dan guru Al-Qur’an Hadis. Untuk data hasil ujian sekolah pelajaran Al-Qur’an Hadis dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan metode dokumen. Yang menjadi subjek adalah soal Al-Qur’an Hadis dan hasil nilai UTS kelas 7E Muhamamdiyah Boarding School Yogyakarta. Dari hasil pebelitian di atas maka dapat disimpulkan dari 20 nomor soal Al-Qur’an Hadis terdapat 5 nomor soal yang tidak valid yaitu nomor 6, 9, 16, 17 dan 19 dikarenakan memiliki r hitung yang lebih kecil atau dibawah r tabel. Terdapat 15 nomor soal yang valid yaitu nomor 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 18, 20. Melalui analisis dapat diketahui bahwa tes mata pelajaran Al-Qur’an Hadis valid karena dari 20 soal, 15 soal merupakan soal valid dan lima soal tidak valid. Sehingga dianggap tes ini dapat dengan tepat untuk mengukur kemampuan siswa SMP di Muhammadiyah Boarding School Yogyakarta dalam mata pelajaran Al-Qur’an Hadis.
