RESUMOEste estudo teve como objetivo avaliar o potencial de uso das espécies arbóreas de uma floresta secundária com aproximadamente 30 anos de idade, abandonada após sucessivos ciclos de agricultura itinerante. A área de estudo está localizada em propriedade de agricultura familiar na Zona Bragantina, PA. A área inventariada corresponde a 1,5 ha, onde foram medidos todos os espécimes arbóreos com DAP ³ 5 cm. Verificou-se a ocorrência de 103 espécies, que totalizaram 1961 indivíduos/ha e área basal de 17,7 m 2 / ha. As espécies com maior número de indivíduos foram: Sacoglottis amazonica Mart., Ormosia flava (Ducke) Rudd, Eschweilera coriacea (DC.) S.A. Mori e Croton matourensis Aubl.. As categorias de uso que apresentam maior número de espécies foram: Construções rurais (33%), seguida das espécies madeireiras de alto valor comercial (30%), madeireiras de baixo valor comercial e as utilizadas como lenha (9% cada).

Potential of use of the tree species in a secondary forest, of the Bragantina zone, Pará, Brazil
ABSTRACT
O objetivo deste trabalho foi analisar o efeito de diferentes substratos na germinação de Ochroma pyramidale (Cav. ex Lam.) Urb. (Bombacaceae). O experimento foi conduzido em delineamento inteiramente casualizado com três tratamentos (substratos) e quatro repetições de 25 sementes. Foram testados os seguintes substratos: areia + vermiculita (1:1); vermiculita e, areia + serragem (1:1). Foi avaliado o efeito dos substratos pelo percentual de germinação das sementes, tempo médio de germinação e índice de velocidade de germinação (IVG). Houve diferença significativa entre os tratamentos em todas as variáveis observadas. As sementes, quando acondicionadas em vermiculita, apresentaram a maior taxa de germinação, maior velocidade e menor tempo de germinação.
O presente trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar a dinâmica da composição florística da regeneração natural de florestas secundárias em diferentes estágios de sucessão no município de Bragança, Pará. Foram selecionadas três áreas de florestas secundárias com 20, 30 e 40 anos de sucessão. Para a avaliação da regeneração natural, estabeleceram-se três classes de tamanho: classe 1 – indivíduos com altura entre 30 cm e 1,5 m; classe 2 – indivíduos com altura maior que 1,5 m com DAP < 2,5 cm; e classe 3 – indivíduos com 2,5 cm £ DAP < 5 cm. As famílias de maior representatividade nas três áreas foram Leguminosae e Myrtaceae. Os gêneros que apresentaram maior ocorrência foram Inga e Myrcia. As espécies Phyllanthus nobilis, Gustavia augusta, Abarema jupunba, Myrcia paivae, Ouratea castaneaefolia, Myrciaria tenella e Myrcia bracteata ocorreram nas três medições e em todas as classes de tamanho.
