El trabajo se desarrolló durante 2012 en el Laboratorio de Nematología de la Universidad Autónoma Agraria Antonio Narro, con el objetivo de evaluar extractos vegetales derivados del nogal Carya illinoinensis (Wangenh) K. Koch, para el control del nematodo agallador Meloidogyne sp. Göldi 1889. Los nematodos fueron obtenidos a partir de tubérculos de papa (Solanum tuberosum L.) Var. “Alpha”, que presentaban sintomatología. Se realizó la identificación de los nematodos y se determinó que correspondían a Meloidogyne incognita. Para el estudio de evaluació de efectividad biológica de los extractos se colocaron los extractos a diferentes concentraciones, (1.0, 1.5 y 2%) utilizando una población de 30 ±5 especímenes de Meloidogyne incognita activos, se estableció un experimento completamente al azar, con once tratamientos incluyendo al testigo y cinco repeticiones. Se observaron al microscopio estereoscópico a las 24, 48 y 72 h de exposición con los extractos, para determinar el porcentaje de mortalidad. De los extractos evaluados, los que presentaron mayor actividad nematicida fueron el FIM8 (ruezno acuoso) con 89.16%, FIM6 (Ruezno etanolítico) con 69.22%, y el FIM7 (Cáscara acuoso) con 60.77%, todos éstos en la concentración al 2% y en la observación a las 72 h de exposición con el extracto.
Los nematodos fitoparásitos constituyen uno de los principales patógenos que afectan el cultivo del cafeto Coffea arabica L., causando reducciones en el rendimiento entre 15 y 60%. El objetivo de esta investigación fue evaluar la efectividad de los extractos biológicos del nematicida Nemaxxion XT Plus, para el control de los nematodos Meloidogyne incognita y Pratylenchus sp., asociados al cultivo del café. Se consideraron cinco tratamientos con cinco repeticiones bajo un diseño en bloques completos al azar: Nemaxxion XT Plus (2 L ha-1, 4 L ha-1, 6 L ha-1), Nemacur® 400 CE y testigo. Se realizó el conteo de las poblaciones de nematodos en 100 g de suelo antes de la aplicación de los tratamientos y a los 120 días de instalado el experimento. Para el conteo, los nematodos se extrajeron por el método de embudo de Baerman. Para M. incognita, se contabilizó el número de juveniles de segundo estadio, machos y hembras adultos y para Pratylenchus sp., se contabilizaron los machos y hembras adultos filiformes. La evaluación demostró la efectividad de los tratamientos para el control de las poblaciones de nematodos, estos tratamientos presentaron una reducción considerable de las poblaciones, con una sobrevivencia en promedio de 1.2-3.4 nematodos de M. incognita y 2.2-4.4 nematodos de Pratylenchus sp., de estos, Nemaxxion XT Plus a 6 L ha-1 presentó la mayor reducción poblacional y eficiencia sobre las dos poblaciones, con 99.08 y 92.87% respectivamente, presentándose como alternativa para una agricultura más sustentable.
Los nematodos fitoparásitos constituyen uno de los principales patógenos que afectan el cultivo del cafeto (Coffea arabica L.), reduciendo el rendimiento entre 10 y 70 %. El objetivo de este estudio, fue evaluar la efectividad biológica del nematicida de origen biológico Nemmax, para el control de Meloidogyne incognita, Pratylenchus spp. y Dorylaimus spp., asociados a este cultivo en Motozintla, Chiapas, en el año 2014. Se realizaron dos muestreos poblacionales, uno previo a la aplicación de tratamientos, y otro a los 120 días posteriores, obteniendo el número de nematodos en 100 g de suelo. Los tratamientos Nemmax (a dosis de 2, 4 y 6 L ha con 3 aplicaciones), Nemacur 400 CE (Fenamifos) (3 L ha-1 una aplicación) y un testigo absoluto. En el control de Meloidogyne incognita, se observó diferencia significativa en el tratamiento 5 (133.2), que representa al testigo, ya que se observó un incremento en la población de los nematodos, comparado con los demás tratamientos, los cuales fueron iguales estadísticamente, presentándose las mismas diferencias para Pratylenchus spp. Con el nematodo Dorylaimus spp., se presentaron diferencias estadísticas, siendo el tratamiento 5 (249.6) con mayor diferencia, 4 (18), 1 (8.2), 2 (6) y 3 (3.4). El tratamiento 3, de Nemmax a dosis de 6 L ha-1 fue el que presentó la menor población de los nematodos filiformes del género Meloidogyne incognita, Pratylenchus spp. y Dorylaimus spp.
El nematodo dorado Globodera rostochiensis es uno de los principales problemas en el cultivo de la papa (Solanum tuberosum L.), sus quistes pueden permanecer viables en el suelo hasta por treinta años. Para su control se utilizan nematicidas químicos, sin embargo, los bioplaguicidas son una alternativa eficaz en el control de plagas agrícolas. Se aislaron y evaluaron cuatro cepas del hongo Beauveria spp. a concentraciones de 1 × 104, 1 × 105, 1 × 106 sobre quistes de G. rostochiensis. La infección se registró a las 72 h con todas las concentraciones, de todas las cepas, sin embargo, la RH4 fue la única que infectó al nematodo en el estadio de huevo en todas las concentraciones. A las 96 horas se observó infección en las diferentes cepas, excepto la U9 que infectó hasta las 120 h. Comprobando con esto que Beauveria spp. puede ser utilizado para el control de G. rostochiensis.
