Estudo e projeto de tecnologia para transferência e movimentação de tetraplégicos Study and design of technology for transfer and movement of quadriplegics
ABSTRACTThis paper presents the development of an electromechanical device that helps support and move the head of people with spastic Cerebral Palsy. Spastic Cerebral Palsy is a condition that affects motor control, causing partial loss of movement due to muscle stiffness and spasticity. Because he is unable to maintain the anatomical position, the head ends up falling on the chest, causing the posterior muscles to spend a lot of time extended, which can cause tiredness and contractures. This condition affects many individuals, the vast majority being children who need special monitoring and support from birth. Through the development of this device, it is possible to solve daily problems faced by these people, such as difficulty swallowing due to the position of the head and restrictions on primary school and recreational activities. The use of 3D CAD software was due to facilitate the fabrication of the structure in a 3D printer. ABS plastic is the raw material used, as it withstands the stresses generated during the use of the device and is not harmful to the human body. The prototype has continuous and angle servo motors, in charge of head movement, programmed by the Arduino Uno board. The support performs flexion, extension, and rotation movements, which are commanded by the user's caregiver to minimize accidents. The device ca...
