Resumo: O presente artigo, busca refletir sobre a relação design e artesanato, assim como, no horizonte ontológico a relação, design e arte, articulados teoricamente pela sustentabilidade e pela inovação. Como forma de delinear o enquadramento teórico e de qualificar as reflexões sobre os artefatos de design, buscou-se o apoio no design estratégico. Para materializar, mesmo que parcialmente, os termos em estudo, escolheu-se o projeto desenvolvido por artesãos e designers intitulado Bichos do Mar de Dentro. A interpretação desses artefatos obedece aos vetores interpretativos propostos por Guattari em suas três ecologias: o meio-ambiente, as relações sociais e a subjetividade humana e está organizada nas articulações semânticas Simbolização, Pluralidade, Hedonismo, Testemunho e Estética. As considerações sobre design e artesanato servem para corroborar a existência de um conceito de consumo diferenciado e de cultura da sustentabilidade que passam pela produção artesanal associada ao design, na direção do design-arte como meio de atribuição de valor simbólico a artefatos que podem assim assumir status de objetos a serem preservados.
Este ensaio busca compreender aspectos da lógica de construção do sentido na obra do designer de moda inglês Alexander McQueen. Para enfrentar tal problema, aproximamos o campo da moda com o da filosofia e articulamos noções de estética, imanência, semiótica e design. Considerando que McQueen questionou o processo de desenvolvimento sustentável do planeta, abordaremos de forma especulativa conceitos e valores simbólicos presentes em sua obra para enfocar a temática da deriva cultural e da mutação da espécie humana. No escopo deste ensaio, organizado em quatro seções temáticas – a imanência e o devir; o trágico e a deriva; o híbrido e o louco; a sustentabilidade e a crise – questionaremos sobre a matéria semiótica de McQueen quanto à sustentabilidade, buscando conteúdos imanentes ao discurso do designer.
O programa de Pesquisa e Pós-graduação em Design da Unisinos e a Escola de Design sediaram em junho de 2009, na cidade de Porto Alegre, Brasil, o 1º Fórum Internacional de Design como Processo. O Encontro idealizado pelo Prof. Dr Flaviano Celaschi, contou com a participação de um grupo de pesquisadores em design vindos de vários países latinos.
Este artigo tem como objetivo analisar o recurso de acessibilidade visual disponível no Museo Nacional de Artes Visuales (MNAV) de Montevidéu, Uruguai. Para tal, fez-se uma pesquisa de campo no espaço expositivo, onde foram identificados e delimitados em seu conjunto semiótico, os expositores, as pinturas e os painéis táteis. Especificamente os painéis táteis funcionam como dispositivos de interação sensível para os visitantes com deficiência visual. Tendo como recorte três obras pertencentes ao patrimônio artístico do país, de Juan Manuel Blanes, Carlos Federico Sáez e Joaquín Torres García, propõem-se um comparativo entre as placas de acessibilidade e as pinturas em si, levando em consideração preliminarmente, a abordagem peirciana sobre primeiridade, secundidade, terceiridade e ícone, índice e símbolo.
