Heterocycles. -The first examples of Suzuki-Miyaura cross coupling of o-azidobromobenzene (I) with various arylboronic acids (II) or (V) are presented. The formed o-azidodiphenyl and related derivatives (III) or (VI) smoothly undergo thermolysis--nitrene insertion reaction to give carbazole derivatives and heterocyclic analogues (IV) or (VII). Interestingly, o-azidobromobenzene (I) does not react with pyridine-3-boronic acid derivative (IX) but the corresponding o-azidophenylpyridine product is smoothly generated from the o-amino analogue (Xa) and readily cyclized. -(PUDLO, M.; CSANYI, D.; MOREAU, F.; HAJOS, G.; RIEDL
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
