Esse estudo objetivou conhecer as expectativas dos homens transexuais ante a hormonização, apontando as contribuições que a enfermagem pode agregar no cuidado em saúde e justifica-se diante da colaboração da enfermagem para a redução da discriminação e da violência através da promoção da saúde. Além disso, a enfermagem se faz presente na construção do conhecimento e de políticas públicas de saúde, que impactam de forma direta e indireta na saúde de homens transexuais. A metodologia utilizada foi a exploratório - descritiva com abordagem qualitativa, realizada em um ambulatório de saúde trans localizado em Niterói, RJ, com a participação de doze homens transexuais. Como resultados, percebeu-se que as mudanças corporais permitem a visibilidade social e a aceitação na sociedade cisheteronormativa. Narrativas sobre a passabilidade demonstram a preocupação com a segurança e mencionam que, por outro lado, pode ser a oportunidade de alcançar tranquilidade. Concluiu-se que as expectativas objetivas dos homens transexuais em relação à hormonização cruzada perpassam pela mudança na face, voz e corpo e eles enxergam esse processo como passaporte para obter satisfação com o próprio corpo. E como expectativas subjetivas, a liberdade, o respeito e a felicidade. A enfermagem pode colaborar no processo de transição dos homens transexuais por ser forte atuante na educação em saúde e na construção de políticas públicas, favorecendo a minimização dos riscos e danos diante da vulnerabilidade social a qual esse público está exposto e contribuindo para a redução da violência.
A pandemia ocasionada pela Coronavirus disease (covid-19) tem impactado a sociedade como um todo, exigindo adaptação a um novo contexto, tanto pessoal quanto profissional. As condições de trabalho dos profissionais de saúde têm sido objeto de interesse de pesquisas atuais, com ênfase no risco de transmissão e da sua repercussão na saúde mental. Nesse sentido, o presente estudo analisa as diferentes implicações dessa pandemia nas esferas privada e de trabalho entre médicos, enfermeiros e técnicos de enfermagem que atuam na Região Metropolitana de São Paulo, Brasil. A partir de uma abordagem qualitativa e quantitativa, foram exploradas as entrevistas realizadas principalmente a distância, com o auxílio de mediação tecnológica, com a aplicação de um roteiro semiestruturado. Verificou-se que as adaptações para viver e trabalhar na pandemia se expressaram de forma heterogênea entre as diferentes categorias de profissionais da saúde, identificadas na intersecção entre gênero e classe social, sendo as mulheres as grandes responsáveis pela articulação de novas formas de apoio em rede. As intervenções a serem implementadas para a recuperação dos efeitos da pandemia não poderão abstrair as iniquidades já presentes na sociedade que se reproduzem no ambiente profissional.
