Zwecks Auffindung einer verwandtschaftlichen Beziehung zwischen der Kristallform des triklin kristallisierenden Kaliumdichromats und des monoklin kristallisierenden Ammoniumdichromats wurde für die Kristalle des Kaliumsalzes eine neue, von der üblichen durch Vertauschung der b-und e-Achsen verschiedene Aufstellung gewählt; dabei erwies es sich, daß die beiden Dichromale in dem Achsenverhällnis a:b: e ihrer Kristalle einander sehr nahe stehen. Eine röntgenometrische Untersuchung, die vorgenommen wurde, um festzustellen, ob der Ähnlichkeit in a:b:c der Kristalle eine solche der Gitterkonstanten parallel gehe, ergab, daß eine Veranlassung, die bisherige Vorstellung über die Beziehung zwischen der Kristallform der beiden Dichromate abzuändern, nicht vorliegt.Die Kristalle der Dichromate von Kalium und Ammonium können bekanntlich nicht als isomorph angesehen werden. Das erstere Salz kristallisiert im triklinen System, mit den Konstanten a : b : e = 0,5575: 1 : 0,5511 und α = 82°0', β = 90°51' und γ = 83°47' in der üblichen 1 ) Art der Aufstellung. Die Kristalle des Ammoniumsalzes dagegen gehören dem monoklinen System an; verwandtschaftliche Beziehungen zur Form des Kaliumsalzes scheint man nicht weiter gesucht zu haben.
