Die Darstellung von reinem K2FeO4, Cs2FeO4, BaFeO4 · aq und SrFeO4 · aq wird beschrieben. Die thermische Zersetzung von K2FeO4 im O2‐Strom wird untersucht; sie führt höchstwahrscheinlich zur gleichzeitigen Bildung von K3FeO4 und KFeO2. K2FeO4 reagiert mit der berechneten Menge Na2O unter Bildung von Alkaliferrat(V). Es wird gezeigt, da ß bestimmte BaFeO4 · aq‐Präparate bei Zimmertemperatur spontan in BaFeO3 · aq und Sauerstoff zerfallen. Das thermische Verhalten von BaFeO4 · aq wird untersucht.
Die Metaferrate(IV) des Strontiums und Bariums erhält man am besten, wenn man von den Ferraten(IV) ausgeht. Li2FeO3 kann durch thermische Umsetzung von K2FeO4 mit LiOH dargestellt werden. Bei der Fällung von K2FeO4‐Lösung mit AgNO3 entsteht nicht Silberferrat(VI), sondern Silbermetaferrat(IV) Ag2FeO3 · aq. Die Eigenschaften dieser Metaferrate(IV) werden beschrieben.
